World /ignore Maybe??

I've never had this issue personally, but Ive seen people complain about how people would bother them and how the other person wouldn't want to deal with it, so I think /ignore or something of the like would be a good idea.

you know, even though /ignore would make it MORE convenient, and would make it way easier to counter spam

 

It depends on the scenario. If you're getting harassed in a city, leave or switch to a different server. If you're getting spammed by messages, report the person. A /ignore is a temporary solution to an already solvable problem

 

That is true, but nonetheless I still think it might be a nice addition to the server. Especially since Wynn is such a big server there are probably a few reports about someone a day. It would take time for staff to handle the situation.

why not both? idk how long it takes for /report to do something (not that it's very long), but in the mean time /ignore would be helpful.
and if the person keeps spamming, you can just keep /ignoring them.

 

A /ignore isn't needed when spam is already against the rules. Just report them, then fuck off to a different part of the map.

Just take them off anything that would let them follow you. They can't find you by default, so just make sure that they can't

 

People won't go to that effort unless they're trying to be assholes, in which case a /report will do just fine.

It's their job to handle the situation. There's almost always a staff member or two online. They volunteer to do it, and so this is not a valid point.

If the issue's really bad, you can go on the forums, where the staff can't /hide.

 

Okay, RetiFile, you can't take off your name.

Except people can go into effort to do so Ganon, and ya it's against the rules, but even where there are staff online you're going to have the times where they do take time.
I have no understanding of how it's not a valid point, Katniss volunteered as tribute, her mom had to start working to support the family again, until Katniss could get back.
By this logic her mom doesn't have to support the family because Katniss is coming back anyways, so why should she bother, she doesn't need to eat until Katniss gets back right?

Besides that,
1. This is extremely simple to add.
2. Technically the whole of Wynncraft is a useless addition to reality, so the whole useless argument doesn't work for video games.
3. It will help, ever heard of quality of life?
4. Even there it's not useless, there will be times where it will be used, especially by popular people.

SIMPLE ANSWER
the mods are extremely fast with their respond time with the /report, so if someone does spam you can assure yourself it will most likely be handled.
although, /ignore can be helpful just to ease chat / to not see that annoying person each and everyone of us have.

/ignore can be a great addition, although - it's not crucial.

 

Also it saves the mods some hassle.

You don't need to turn off your name, because Wynncraft features a giant map, and multiple servers, making it hard to find you unless you tell someone where you are.

If you're halfway across the planet, you don't need to turn off your name

 

Okay, let me put it this way, you can message someone regardless of what server they're on, or their location on the map.
All you need is a name.
You cannot take off your name.

 

While this is true, there are ways to change your name. Even if that doesn't suite you, the mods are usually fast on reading the /report messages

1. I'm 100% sure there have been periods where no staff was online.
2. Even with staff online, what if it's not spam, what if you just don't like that person?
3. What if you're popular, and it isn't spam for the people messaging you, but since there's 50 of them messaging you at once, you're still getting spammed?

"Turn off chat."
1. Quests prove you aren't supposed to have to do this on Wynn.
2. How are you supposed to, y'know, interact with players, something the Wynn has been trying to push, if your chat is turned off.
3. Then what if there's an actual spammer, and you can't report it because you can't see chat.
