    Mayhem
    Legendary Item
    Damage: 70-90
    Fire Damage: 290-320
    Attack Speed: Very Slow

    Lvl Min: 65
    Strength Min: 50

    Slots: 3
    -6-8% Spell Damage
    +10-15% Melee Damage
    +6% Exploding
    +5 Strength
    +5-10% Fire Defense
    -10-20 Water Defense

Said to have been previously owned by a long line of fire demons, this scythe allows the wielder to harness the power of fire for combat, but gradually makes them bloodthirsty and insane.

    Sceptic
    Rare Chestplate
    Health: +550

    Lvl Min: 45
    Intelligence Min: 25

    +2-3 Strength
    +2 Defense
    +1-2 Agility
    +1 Dexterity
    +20-25% Melee Damage
    -10-15% All Elemental Defenses
    -10% All Elemental Damages

There were once a fearsome warrior who decided to disregard magic’s existence, choosing instead to hone his combat skills further. Ignoring others’ protests, he then constructed a strange chestplate that boosted his physical strength immensely, but in turn sapped away what little magic he had left.

    Iris
    Legendary Ring
    Health: -100

    +10-20% Walk Speed
    +10% Air Defense
    -5-15% Melee Damage
    +5-15% Spell Damage

Imbued with the goddess Iris’ blessing, this allows the wearer to run at top speeds, at the cost of their combat skills. A fitting gift from the peaceful messenger of the gods!

I'm new to this whole designing-item-thing, so feedback will be appreciated! Thanks!

Here's an example of an in-game item, for aesthetic comparison:

First thing, item ID ranges aren't custom-set, they use an "average" that the game rolls off. For example, the legendary helmet Blue Mask has an average of 15 points in every skill. So:
    • If your average ID is positive (e.g. 8), then your maximum will be the average times 1.3, and your minimum will be the average times 0.3.
    • If your average ID is negative (e.g. -5), then your maximum will be the average times 0.7, and the minimum is the average times 1.3.
ID calculations do not follow standard rounding rules - instead, everything is rounded up. So if your maximum ID is 9.1, you will round it to 10. If you have -3.5, you will round it to -3.
In the case of Blue Mask, this means that you can get anywhere from 5 to 20 points in each skill.

Now, in terms of the items you made:
They're not half-bad. But please specify all the stats, because you left out the class requirement on Mayhem and the level requirement on Iris, among other things. Maybe remove a powder slot on Mayhem, add more drawbacks to Iris (an agility req. could be a good start), and then recalculate the IDs to fit the in-game formula. Otherwise, I'd give it a "not bad, but still plenty of room for improvement."

Thank you so much! That was really useful!
Also thank you to everyone for moving the thread, I messed up there. xD

    Noted. Thanks for the feedback!

@stlast Sorry, another question. So basically, when it comes to the stats (not just the skill points, but elemental defenses, elemental damages, tier attack speed, etc), instead of randomly custom-setting each stat, you instead provide an random, yet reasonable average, and then math out each individual stat from there. Did I get it right?

    Minecraft:
With the raw elemental defenses on armor, those are set. Same with the base weapon damage and base tier attack speed. It's the IDs that are calculated based on an average. But some IDs do exist such as +x tier attack speed, +x% (element) defense, and +x% (element) damage, and those are calculated as IDs when rolled. If you look at the picture I posted (the wand cyclone), the +18% thunder damage and the -10% earth defense are IDs and are thus randomized, but the very fast attack speed and air damage on top of the tooltip are set.

There is a difference between raw elemental defense and the percentage. The raw defense appears directly below the health bonus on armor and accessories, and are set in stone - they aren't randomized when identified. The percentage bonuses to defenses and damage that show up with the IDs of the item are randomized. As an example, the dagger chakram has a very fast attack speed by default, but one of its IDs is +1 tier attack speed. Because of the way the ID system works, it's possible to get +2 tiers (even though you can't actually go above super fast).

    Edit: Two more examples.

    I hope I explained that right. :P
I can provide more pictures soon, if you need any. I'm not on my computer right now.
