Armor Skins (yes I Know What You're Going To Say)

So previously, when you equipped armor it would effect your skin via another layer (The 1.8 2nd layer) and I personally LOVED it. Only problem was that by the time i reached level 15 it was removed and i never wore any really cool sets. I understand there are specific reasons why this was done, but I think maybe, more armor skins would be needed. Especially with Corkus coming out, people will want some steampunk looking armor (Or at least I sure would). Perhaps first a thread could come out instructing people HOW to make these only 2nd layer armors, then a series of contests for different themes (Steampunk, high level magic-ey, maybe a snail themed one for snail set, etc...) Through this process the skins could be re added. It would also be absolutely necessary that in the tutorial or some pop-up, it tells you how to turn it off, for people who don't like the skins, or don't like the time it takes to change their appearance. I know that it is probably very difficult to make these item-based skins, and that it may be blatantly too difficult to do any time soon, but I personally would like more appearance options from a great MMO like Wynncraft. Anyone who can find a way to improve this idea, I welcome you.

 

Mojang nixed armour skins cause it was done in a cheatsy way. Unless we find a non-illegal way to work it, they probably won't ever return.

 

The reason it was removed was because Mojang didn't like the way we did it. It was kinda cheaty. Do you have any way to add them in without mojang going all eula?

 

Different textures of dyed leather armours? I'm pretty sure you can make tons of combinations with them, maybe? I dunno if texture packs allow that.

 

I've actually been meaning to experiment with that in single player with hexadecimal codes

Just out of curiosity, what was "cheatsy" about how skins were made?

 

And yet, I'm sure you've noticed how all the set armours dropped from mobs is plain leather despite being supposed to be coloured.

 

I thought that they wouldn't be dropped, the item textures would still be like diamond but when you put on the diamond helmet it replaces it with the coloured leather, like how it used to do with the snow layer things

 

If you convert the server to 1.9+ (I know this would get a lot of hate but get used to it kids) you could make different textures for different durability of armors, like you did with weapons.

Well he did IF, also why would you stop playing it because of 1.9? It wont effect the fighting system, in fact it would make more potential for the server! The real problem is switching it securely.

 

Because then I have to exit MC everytime I wanna play on Hypixel

wynncraft is the only reason I still have minecraft installed

 

I obviously don't know how fast your computer is, but unless it's VERY slow booting up MC, I don't understand your point. Closing MC, switching versions and booting back up takes less than a minute for me.

 

If you'll stop playing wynncraft because a version change, you don't like wynncraft, and won't sacrifice around 20 seconds to change versions and load up mc.

 

Why would you do that?

 

Because then I have to restart everytime I want to play on a different server, and I play on 4 different servers.
