In the years before the advent of Bob, Wynn had been plunged into darkness from the ever-growing corruption and hordes of monsters ravaging the province. With the 56th Swarm advancing, the region's people sought a divine figure that would bring forth a hero to save Wynn's lands. It was then the Bovemist Church was founded by a legendary cow deity dubbed 'Salted'. But despite the spread of his holy teachings, chicken and sheep-worshiping cults broke out throughout the whole territory. To put an end to this, the Bovemist Inquisition was founded by a loose association of firm believers. Though small at first, the association grew with the enlistment of pious individuals who saw a common cause within the Inquisition.​

Quest:

[1/7] Inquisitor Brigadier: Moo-- I mean... Pardon me, adventurer. I'm in need of your service.
[2/7] Inquisitor Brigadier: Recently, one of our high ranking officials was sent on a mission to stop a rising cult of feather-worshippers in Rymek but never rqeturned.
[3/7] Inquisitor Brigadier: Soon after, a band of chickens came in here and locked us up in our own prison.
[4/7] Inquisitor Brigadier: It must've been that cuckoo Ohno.
[5/7] Inquisitor Brigadier: He's the cousin and chicken supplier of a feather-worshipper named Nohno, maybe you know him?
[5/6] Inquisitor Brigadier: Anyway, I need you to spy on one of Ohno's meetings in his secret hideout in one of the caves near Katoa Ranch just to make sure.
[7/7] Inquisitor Brigadier: Oh and here, take this [Forged Cult Pass]. It'll grant you access to the meeting room.

[New Quest Started]

[1/4] Hideout Bouncer: Hey! Scram!
[2/4] Hideout Bouncer: Wait a minute, is that a access pass?
[3/4] Hideout Bouncer: Excuse my prior behavior, I didn't know you were a fellow member.
[4/4] Hideout Bouncer: Anyway, right this way.

[During the meeting]

[1/5] Ohno: We're just days away from launching our attack on Gavel.
[2/5] Ohno: Soon the whole province will be worshipping the true god! Mwahahaha!
[3/5] Ohno: Hey, wait. You in the doorway, why aren't you laughing?
[4/5] Ohno: What is that... Huh?!
[5/5] Ohno: A forged pass! Brothers, get him!

[Fight three Lvl. 40 Feather Goons]

[The Adventurer then enters an opening behind where Ohno was standing to complete a sick parkour in pursuit of the cult leader (Ohno)]

[1/9] Ohno: Impressive, you've made it past the obstacles.
[2/9] Ohno: You actually look familiar too, you know?
[3/9] Ohno: Hold on a sec, you're that adventurer that killed my cousin's Cluckles!
[4/9] Ohno: I'll avenge him!
[5/9] Ohno: Wait, what? You didn't come here to fight?
[6/9] Ohno: What else could a murderer like you want with me?
[7/9] Ohno: What?! No, I didn't send my chickens after that dumb Bovemist Inquisition.
[8/9] Ohno: Someone must've poisoned those poor fowl...
[9/9] Ohno: Talk to my nephew Garicus, he could be behind this.

[The Adventurer will then enter Garicus' house among the trees in the Nivla Village]

[1/11] Garicus: Why don't you make yourself useful and get me mushrooms, adventurer.
[2/11] Garicus: Woah-ho! That's a sharp knife. Okay, what do you want?
[3/11] Garicus: A chicken-siege on the Inquisition? I didn't have anything to do with it.
[4/11] Garicus: Alright, alright! Watch where you point that thing.
[5/11] Garicus: Yes, I stole some chickens off my uncle's island and gave the poultry stolen mushrooms
[6/11] Garicus: The chickens became crazy powerful after that. And the best part is that they would bend to my every will!
[7/11] Garicus: At first, I sent them to scour the Nivla Forest for those sweet mushrooms to roid more chickens.
[8/11] Garicus: But when the woods ran out, we turned our sights on the lands near the Inquisition's base that's full of em'!
[9/11] Garcius: With the Inquisition in it's own prison, we were able to gather as much 'shrooms as we want!
[10/11] Garicus: Of course we had extras... With that we made the most awesome creation.
[11/11] Garicus: Behold! The Great Shroom!

[After the dialogue, the player battles a giant boss mushroom as well as Garicus and obtains [Mushroom Cap] from Garicus]

[After winning]

[1/5] Inquisitor Brigadier: You're back! Have you any food?
[2/4] Inquisitor Brigadier: Oh right, the quest. Have you found out anything?
[3/5] Inquisitor Brigadier: Garicus? I never would've suspected that village boy...
[4/5] Inquisitor Brigadier: Nonetheless, the Inquisition commends you for your service.
[5/5] Inquisitor Brigadier: That [Mushroom Cap]? Keep it, unless it's made out of His Udder Greatness' hide it's no use to us.

Okay, while the backstory would be interesting if gone into more depth.
There is nothing in this quest.
Fetch quests are a terrible idea.
There's like 7 lines of dialogue.
Add detail.

 

Etus is already killed in stable story right?

It's a nice idea to expand on this topic, but currently it's just a simple "go, kill, return" quest. Add some more elements, puzzles and dialogue!

 

Yes plz let's also have a Bovemist Reformation and Crusades, searching for the Holy Pail(of milk).

 

For a thread about cows, this suggestion really lacks any meat. It's hardly a skeleton of a quest, and fetching something doesn't make for the greatest gameplay.

The criticism was much appreciated and taken to heart. I have not yet given up on this suggestion so I have updated the quest (excluding the rewards) in model of your liking.

 

The lore is a little... off.

I have not yet hit lvl. 101 or really even close to that. But when I do I'd be happy to make some adjustments to my suggestion :)

 

It looks like you added more to the quest! Though I think the concept is getting better, you might want to avoid involving extremely lore-involved characters such as Nohno and Yahya because they are already included in several different quests and elements of Gavel & Wynn. Creating new characters and thinking up unique ways they contribute to the story would be helpful.

Also, making the text slightly bigger can help people with poor eyesight enjoy your quest.

How much health?
How much regen?
Elemental defenses/weaknesses?
Spells, if any?

Also I think that the presence of a secret lair is... well, there's already a secret lair under Yahya's house. In ??? you have to throw a bunch of sorta random items into a carpet and it will open Yahya's lab.

 

I was hoping to get some help on deciding stats for the Giant Mushroom. I was also thinking about changing the characters in the quest so they don't interfere with later journies.

Clearly I haven't play the game's quest long enough to learn of their lore. But thank you for your criticism!
