Class Defense Values

    So, a lot of people talk about a class's *defense value*, they will say for example a warrior has the best defense value, and the archer has the worst,

    This is what I've gathered from people,

    Warrior 120%
    Assassin 100%
    Mage 80%
    Archer 60%

    So I have 2 questions.

    1, are these values correct? has anyone checked the code or asked a dev?

    2 WHAT IS a defense value, my best guess is that defense value is how much damage armor nulls off. So the Warrior's armor protection is 120% and the archer's is 60%. Am I right? is defense value armor protection? If not, what is it....

    And finally, my suggestion is, having the defense values in the class descriptions, and maybe saying what it does. Thanks :D

    well, no.. all classes move at the same speed. There isn't a dmg value either, because it is entirely decided by weapon.

    It's supposed to be 80% for mage. @Selvut283 said that it was a bug in a recentish patch that the defense was 85, so it was reduced.

    2. I don't really know what they are in detail, but it's a measure put in place to help balance the classes, so I'd guess it'd be the amount of damage taken is lessened or heightened depending on the value. As for numbers and math-y shit, I got nothing

    Then why does the chart say archer 120% damage assassin 100% damage warrior 80% damage mage 60% damage? @Pokextreme

    I think the % means the melee damage.

    That's how much damage they inflict.

    Warrior gets a natural 20% defense.
    Assassin has no innate defense modifiers.
    Mages have a natural -20% defense.
    Archers have a natural -40% defense.

    So does the archer get a 20% damage boost on bows?

    or are bows 20% stronger then shears.

    The defense values mean that some classes take more damage than others. A better way to think of it is...
    Assassin takes 100% of the damage (50HP hit does 50HP)
    Warrior takes 80% of the damage (50HP hit does 40HP)
    Mage takes 120% of the damage (50HP hit does 60HP)
    Archer takes 140% of the damage (50HP hit does 70HP)

    This applies to all damage, I used 50HP as an example as it's easy math.
