Dragging you back here to point out another flaw in this argument.
Look at how successful a lot of these MMORPG's are compared to us.

 

Yeah, but Wynncraft is very niche. It's a "medieval" Minecraft MMORPG. Other MMORPGs also have lots of advertising and very large fan bases that will come back for every new installment. Wynncraft has 0 advertising.

 

There are lots of semi obscure mmorpgs without a lot of advertising that are still successful.

The basic #1 rule in Wynncraft is...
Don't make a housing suggestion!
There are many reasons why this is a bad idea.

1. Way too many houses would be needed to fit every player.
2. Lots of lag.
3. Thousands of other people have been shot down as well as you. You only get publicly shunned for doing one of these.
4. There are better storage solutions than to make a house.
5. Most of the time, a player doesn't have a place to live in an MMORPG.
6. Did I mention lag?

And many more reasons why player housing is a bad idea.

2. IF you use this suggestion lag would be minimalized, though #1 becomes viable.
If you use a generated house for each player, lag becomes viable.
3. Lmao so were lots of other group irl for other certain actions.

There's no guidebook to making an MMORPG. There are no rules.
If there were though Wynncraft might be better.

I was thinking chests could be placed in existing homes in or near, for instance, Detlas, Nesaak, Troms, Gelibord, Rodoroc and Amshorst. The chests inside the homes could be accessed like in the plugin: PlayerVaults. To access a vault you click on the sign/chest. You can have five personal vaults, which you can unlock by paying emeralds and having reached a sufficient level, like the extra rows in the bank. Access to the vaults ranging in price from lots of emerald blocks for the first vault to lots of stacks of liquid emeralds for the fifth vault.

As there are only a maximum of 60 players on a server and several cities/villages on the list with a home, perhaps multiple homes, chances are you will be the only player in a home at a particular time. If homely looking places were chosen, or decorated homely, it could make you feel like it was your home, even though it is the same home for everyone else. One in Detlas close to the bank hang out spot would be convenient.

Yes, I want it to act as spawn point and more storage. Since there are many players, most affordable "house" can be just a bedroom space with chestbox. Bigger house will be more expensive. They can also house for 3-4 people (a family) :)

So let's talk about an expensive one. You know the 4 tallest tower in Llvevigar. There is nothing inside the tower. So, I would pay a lot for a floor in that tower. Why? I really love to take screenshot of the view but everytime I must "Escape" parkour with archer and especially have to wait for the night time to come (see my screenshot).

But the main point is, a gameplay feature doesn't even need to be "useful" to the gameplay itself. It can just be a detail to the atmosphere. It can be a role play simulation experience. When I know a world spectacular like this, I can't resist wanting it to be real, wanting it to be really a place for human to live, live like us, live in a daily life. (To have family, to have kid, to have pet.) I want myself to live in such world, do what I do in daily life. Like, laying on the bed after a exhausting boss fight, playing with my pet in a private place. Therefore, such realness is letting us keep dreaming and fatasizing "this is a living world".

Otherwise, the situation that people cannot sleep in a house or can only save randomly in the wild deters the enjoyful process of such a "roleplay" imaginative fantasy.

 

Families might be a bit much though.
Stick with houses.
