Change Gaia's Stats (+29 People Supports This)

    I want to make a suggestion on Gaia's Stats, but here's it's full stats as of now:
    • Slots: 3
    • Damage: 130-210
    • ✤ Earth Damage: 335-400
    • Attack Speed: Slow
    • Lv. Min : 97
    • Strength Min: 95
    • Spell Damage: -2% to -5%
    • Melee Damage: +3% to +11%
    • Strength: +5 to +20
    • Thorns: +5% to +20%
    • Poison: +135/3s to +585/3s
    • Spell Damage: -245 to -455
    • Melee Damage: +45 to +195

    If you're reading the bold text in the spoilers, I want to suggest a change on its melee and spell damage IDs. I see it as a melee wand, because of its negative spell and focuses on melee, but what it really pisses me off is that it's used as a spell wand and not as a melee wand. Yes, Mages / Dark Wizard do have incredible spells that are very versatile, mostly meteor / dead star, but the wand is too overused as a spell wand and not as a melee wand. I know we have Leaning Log and Sequoia as the melee wands that players can use, but I feel like Gaia is the weapon used the wrong way.

    You maybe thinking that it's already like what it is right now? Yeah, only for mages who only uses it as a spell weapon. You would also think, "Yeah, use Gaea-Hewn Boots and some other Raw Spell armor to negate the raw spell, or just ignore it, it's very minimal and it won't hard-hit you in anyway!" I mean sure, but I'd like it become directly more on melee, rather than on spell. Anyway, here's what I suggest.

    • Slots: 3
    • Damage: 140-220
    • ✤ Earth Damage: 350-450
    • Attack Speed: Slow
    • Lv. Min : 97
    • Strength Min: 95
    • Spell Damage: -25% to -46% (Avg. -35%)
    • Melee Damage: +10% to +42% (Avg. +32%)
    • Strength: +5 to +20 (Same as it was)
    • Thorns: +5% to +20% (Same as it was)
    • Poison: +240/3s to +1040/3s (Avg. 800/3s)
    • Spell Damage: -385 to -715 (Avg. -550)
    • Melee Damage: +60 to +260 (Avg. +200)
    Gaia, a goddess who is the symbol of Earth. She has grown her own trees, ever since Earth was created. These trees now are found in very rare hidden spots around the Kander Forest and so far rooted off and forged and wield to anyone with beyond the limits of muscle strengths.

    Most of you might think, "Oh a nerf on Gaia! Please. I couldn't bear this shit". As said before, only for mages who uses Gaia as spell wands. I'd suggest to become significantly more on melee and then lacking spell damage. Also as said before, I really think that Gaia should be more directly on melee and not onto spells a lot.

    You might be thinking, the negative spell damage makes the mage's spell half-useless. Not really. They can still give additional effects like Ice Snake's / Crystal Reptile's slowness effect. I'm not sure if it would affect healing, and if it does, you could use another weapon as a healer's like Bonder with Water Powders. There are other things I'm possibly going to add, like negative fire and air defense and possibly to decrease the base attack speed and increase the strength requirement, as well to increase the earth damage of some sort.

    So that's all I have. There is a poll up in this thread and constructive criticism is appreciated.

    Edit #1: Suggested by @SmileyAlec, decreased melee, increased spell. Also increased base damage and Earth damage.

    Edit #2: Readded the negative raw spell damage and decreased its average.

    Edit #3: Edited some grammars, thanks to @Battleslay1000.

    Edit #4: Decreased melee and increased spell damage once again, thanks to @Miles_Plays_MC. Readded its poison to make it more usable on poison builds thanks to @Madib00.

    Edit #5: Added potential edits (Basically to consider what I think needs to change).

    Add negative fire defense and air defense.
    Increase damage (Both Earth and Neutral), but lower tier attack speed from slow to very slow OR increase strength requirement.
    Add earth defense and damage.

    Good enough. I was thinking to increase the spell damage because you still need to heal as a mage. I did some slight changes to your suggestion on mine.

    Neutral and Earth are higher
    %Melee is wayyy fucking higher
    Raw melee is higher
    Who gives a crap about spell with earth builds
    Poison doesn't matter, its only 585 dmg

    You basically read the current and suggested stats and nothing else? Read the whole thread. There's a reason why it has higher melee than it has.

    I did read the whole thread, im just saying that the current Gaia and its spell damage doesnt really matter, if you have so much melee and earth damage it still goes through the roof.

    This makes a lot of sense; the -2% spell dmg it has now is completely irrelevant.
    The 50%/50% sounds pretty fair to me.
    If you build it tanky, you'll have completely ridiculous melee damage with Rage (+chestplate of ineptitude ;) ) .

    But this is definately a nerf to Gaia, as the melee build will never be as powerful as the current rage build. That's why I'd leave the poison in. 580 poison doesn't matter too much in a poison build, if that's what you are afraid of seeing.

    I don't think heal is affected by spell damage. Tried it while wearing an Amulet of Rejuvenation (which dips spell damage way below -100%) and the amount I healed myself by didn't change.
    Could be wrong though..

    I like the idea of Gaia being changed, but I think this would be a bit OP for melee, considering that mage has teleport and a 12 block melee range. I think it should be -35% spell and +25% melee on average.

    I wanted to remove the poison in Gaia because of the issues in the Nether as of now, but now since people are saying to put the poison in Gaia. I guess so, since the lore says that it was planted around the Kander Forest and the Kander Forest contains toxic plants? I might also buff the poison, if that might be something to do with anything having to be more of a usable poison build or just being Grimtrap on a log / stick.

    I'll slightly lower the melee and increase the spell for a bit. Your suggestion will have some slight changes.
