It depends on the context.
Medically/Mechanically it's pronounced "ee"ther. (Like in ch'ee'se).
When used in fantasy it's pronounced "eh"ther. (Like in t'e'ther).
When spelled with 'ae' it's pronounced "ay"ther. (Like in D'ae'dra).
Edit: I'm an idiot and misread that completely.
Both are correct. Might be region specific.
Ex - UK vs. US.

So, I know a lot of you are immediately going to think "NO this idea is terrible, and is just copying Elytra". Well, my idea is actually a little bit different. To start out, you would need to buy a hang glider. This is the only way to obtain them. I think a fair price would be about 1 liquid emerald, but you tell me if you think otherwise.

This would be an item, not armor like a lot of you were probably expecting. When you hold it, you will glide. The momentum / mechanics would be much like wearing an Elytra except for two things. The first one is that you will not be able to use a hang glider after you start falling. This basically means, if I jump off a cliff and hold my hang glider mid-air, I just fall to my death. Alternatively, if I put it in my hand while my feet are still on the ground and then jumped off, I would glide. If you remove the glider from your hand, you also fall.

The second thing is that flying would use up your sprint bar. Slowly but surely, as you fly your sprint bar will start today. I think it should use up 3% of your sprint every second. This would allow you to fly for around thirty seconds, and can get you pretty far if you manage your velocity and angle correctly. Much like with the Elytra, you would be able to dip downwards to go faster and then go back upwards if you have enough momentum. Also, there is a level requirement to use the item, much like weapons. I think level 55 is a good area, but maybe not?

You would be able to buy them at a merchant in the cinfras airbase. The name of the item would be "hang glider" and the lore would be "These strange paper wings have a faint smell of air magic. It says it was made by Ganie in Bantisu temple."

I'm not exactly sure how the Wynncraft team would make the flight mechanics work smoothly. The reason I didn't copy the Elytra item is for A. Originality and B. I don't think players want to be required to play in 1.9 or above. Either way, that's about it for the idea. If I left something important out, please tell me in the comments! Since you can dye elytra, why not have different tiers and types with different colors, speeds, and distances? A balanced, speedy, and durable version each with 5 tiers (1LE - 8LE - 24LE - 64LE - 128LE) would be awesome.

Would require all players to use 1.9. Hang gliders are not elytra for a reason. I like the idea of better tier gliders though, but I am not going to get into it right now.

Simple idea. Give Wynncraft hang gliders!

The actual flight mechanics would be similar to the Elytra wings. You could gain momentum and fly upwards, change speeds, dip, turn, dive, you name it. They would not be an item that you wear like armor. Instead, in order to fly you would hold it in your hand. You can start using a hang glider while you are on the ground. If you are falling, or in the air and you equip it, the glider will not work. Using the hang glider will drain your sprint bar. It will drain 3% every second, allowing you to fly for about 33 seconds. You could get a good distance with that I believe.

Gliders would be obtained from a merchant at a merchant that is placed in Llevigar and Cinfras. It would cost about 1 liquid emerald ( I think that is fair ) and the level minimum is 55. The lore of the item should be something like "These papery wings have the faint smell of air magic. It says it was made by Oramu at the Air Temple."

This would literally make no sense! It wouldn't fit in the game's lore, it's way too op and people would literally be able to break the game in so many ways you can't even imagine it

I had this idea too but tbh it would be easy to exploit and reach areas you shouldn't. It would also make the transport spells a bit useless.
