    so I was thinking it would be cool to have ids that could be positive or negative
    Polar
    Health +1000
    Fire Defense -50
    Water Defense +50
    Air Defense +25
    Earth Defense -10
    Thunder Defense -25

    Lv min 60

    -11 - +11 water damage
    -2/4s - +3/4s mana regen
    -700/4s lifesteal - +300/4s lifesteal

    [0/2] powder slots
    Legendary Item
    tell me about any changes that may be needed

    Gambler. It has a positive amount of HP on the base item but a negative ID that ranges enough to either make you lose HP or gain HP. Same with Ele Defenses.

    This would require rewriting the ID formula when it is fine how it is. Workarounds can be made.

    Well the base stats are always positive, and the IDs are always negative.

    what I'm suggesting is making some items have IDs that can be Positive OR Negative

    No, not really? Its not the result that matters. Gambler, the name suggest you either get it good because the negative doesnt outweigh the positive or vice versa. What hes suggesting is you either get negative orbpositive.

    Let's say there is an item that gives 1000HP and has a range of -800 to -1200HP. That would be the exact same as an ID that states -200 to 200HP.

    The same could also apply; supporting adding other stats as base stats for the gear is easier than changing the way IDs work.

    Yes, but the base stats of an armor piece consist solely of HP, elemental resistances and slots. What if you wanted a Life Steal ID that could be negative or positive?

    how would positive or negative IDs make items "busted"?
    this would add a true risk greater than the one already there to re-identification
