    The Ocean

In all of the provinces, there is one place which players have always hated to venture into; The Ocean. Truly grand in scale, and home to some of the most unique treasures in all of Wynncraft, the Ocean in concept is a fantastic addition. It's a natural barrier which encourages exploration, and fosters a sense of being away from "home" when the player attempts to sail all the way from Wynn to Gavel for the first time. Sadly, such achievements are overshadowed by fatal failures of the Ocean.

To solve the issues of the Ocean, first we must outline what exactly it fails to deliver. In the Ocean Update trailer, we are given shown players running to a dock in the empty Nemract port. The Ocean itself is a vast plane, ripe for the exploration, or at least that is what the trailed tries to project. Upon it's release and eventual expansion, the Ocean grew larger, and with that size came a greater distance between the actual content in the Ocean itself. Of course we have Skein's island, and many other things similar to that, but we also have expanses of content devoid water. The content is clustered in the wrong places, and not spread evenly at all. Of course, ideally this is how one guides a player, except the content in the ocean isn't guiding the player anywhere.

To alleviate the content gap, I propose that we simply, fill this content in key places. The reason the ocean exists, in theory, is to create a buffer zone, the size of a Province, between Gavel and Wynn. The main city of the buffer, being Selchar, is meant to be the intermediate place of rest between Nemract and Llevigar. If we make a path between Nemract, Selchar, and Llevigar, the player will be encouraged to follow such a path. Filling this is simply achieved by placing ships to appear as if there is actually trade occurring between the three cities, in a way which the player sees a path of trade to follow. This gives an explanation where Selchar trades to, as well as just sure you can go to get to certain hubs of travel in the Ocean.

Given that ships would be the primary "road-markers" of the sea, we would need some diversity, instead of just cookie-cutter ships. There could be vessels ranging from massive frigates from Gavel, pirate ships build for combat, or small trading skiffs like the Sea-Skipper we all know and love. With variety, must come it's own activity, of course. Trading ships of substantial size could come with a merchant selling specific goods, giving flavor to what the ship deals in, while pirate ships could be full of neutral and hostile soldiers, guarding a trove of plunder beneath the decks. These are just examples of the array of possible ships.

Another way which players could be encouraged to use the ocean is to make the majority of it's content around a certain level area. Often the mid-game is full of long horse rides and bursts of grinding. Encouraging the player to use the ocean for what the land is used for as well would be good. Give it places to grind that are slightly better than your average spawn. Make the mobs varied. Give the mobs all similar levels to each other. Enticing most above level 40 go to the ocean to farm and search for loot would get the player accustomed to the ocean, making the slightly later mid-game more accessible. In short, if the ocean had level 40 grinding places and more diverse monsters it would be quite the hot topic.

In summary, I believe that the Ocean is lacking in content, and a clear system of accessible navigation. The content team could place content in key area, creating pathways to and from highly travelled places in the ocean. The content would be a variety of sea-faring vessels, random from pirate ships to tiny skiffs. The possibilities of making the ocean an enjoyable experience for medium level players cannot be overlooked, and this suggestion could solve that.

What we really need is a textured ocean floor. It's so boring right now. Also it needs to be deeper. Right now it's as deep as a lake.

Or atleast we can add more jobs for the player

    Example:
The players can be a part of ocean trade, gathering items (like fish or other goods from far islands) and selling them in cities/towns (prices and items vary from each town), or can be assigned a task to deliver items with the risk of being attacked or chased down by pirates, or assigned to protect a trading ship from danger.
