World Add Hang Gliders To Wynncraft! - Read Before You Criticize [86+ Supporters]

This is certainly a well thought out idea and I am all for little details in Wynncraft to increase immersion, but I feel that horses are a key part of the game and this suggestion would nullify their usefulness.

 

Horses can be somewhat glitchy at times (in many cases, this can kill you if you're not careful) and this would probably be more efficient.

 

Horses don't kill you, the mobs that attack you whilst your on the horse kill you, because you may back, also it has been confirmed that they are currently working in fixing the 1.9+ horse issue.

 

No other item in Wynncraft has durability so why should this?

There is already a border that the top of the world, so this isn't needed. It is around 220 y I believe.

Horses can kill you depending where you are. As an assassin, I depend on my horse to help me navigate molten heights efficiently but when I'm in 1.9 I am often teleported into lava when I dismount. Also, gliders are more fun than horses, I think you would agree. Also hang gliders provide several new options for dungeons, bosses, parkour, and even quests.

 

I actually don't mind the idea, but really what would be the point.
There's too much tall decoration ingame to allow you to fly far in many areas, as well as the fact that ground travel is one of the major points of the game. We can't fly.
Now, maybe you could use this mechanic as a temporary thing for a quest in Corckus, or the Skylands.
It may already be planned for the Skylands considering I found a plane.
Now, rather than putting their time into making new things, personally they should fix the things already there.
Horses and guilds.

 

Out of curiosity, does the Canyon of the Lost's mountains reacher higher than that?

 

Again it is for fun. By your logic I could ask "what really is they point for Wynncraft?" To have fun if course! I think there would just be another fun way to travel. There are plenty of places to fly. The watch tower in detlas, the llevihsr upper area, tower of amnesia, ozoths spire, bantisu temple, the top of molten heights. I could go on and on.

The border was around this level outside of eltom and that area so I doubt it.

 

Part of the fun of Wynncraft is the general ambiance of a semi-dark ages fantasy land.
The one guy who invented something similar to hang gliders was killed for witchcraft.
While they do break the general ambiance for a few quests, breaking it for the whole game wouldn't fit really.

 

What guy was killed for making something similar to a hang glider? Also no one said they had to be modern hang gliders like we have today, that it just the closest thing I am able tobusevti describe them.

 

That was DaVinci, and well, he was killed for it, like you said. It never actually became practical.
Perhaps instead of hang gliders some kind of magic item for wind magic?
Possibly obtainable from Bantisu Temple.

 

Like that idea, but with wind magic you'd think that you could fly. And with this you can only glide. Also, Wynncraft =/= Real life. There's no dragons or magic in real life, so your comparison to DaVinci is irrelevant. And I never said anything about anyone being killed for anything... If you get a fleshed out idea for the "wind magic" glider, do tell me.

Perhaps the magic is fueled by the user, which is why you lose stamina.

I don't think you can call it abusing when that's their main purpose...

 

If we were able to fly it woks let us access places we cannot go before. Also, what us going to be its purpose once everyone has one and has the wynncraft mod pack (item locks), new players woulnt be able to get them later and most of them quit. Durability is to balance wealth in players.

 

Why would new players be unable to get them...?
If they're not willing to stick around long enough to get them, then they'll be missing out on a lot more than hang gliders.

 

New players might not catch up with the economy or might as well wit till level 20. Durability in hang gliders might balance out the ceconomy. Gliders would mainly impact assassins and it only takes away sprint, not mana. So assassins can become faster and get to places easier than other classes.

So eather let the glider effect the users mana instead of sprint

They are intended to be a fun method of transport, so this can't really be abused. That is like saying horses are abused in getting to places.

Again, durability in items just isn't how Wynncraft works. Wouldn't fit in. Also, what do item locks have to do with anything? And why would players quit if they don't have a hang glider. If they are that new they would either A. Not know they exist, B. Be determined enough to level up to buy one or C. Not care at all. I mean seriously, your statement makes no sense at all. That's like saying low levels who don't have horses will quit.

Also, the house of Twain, which is a level 49 quest, gives 2 le as a reward. How would people not be able to catch out? Also, assassins need more durability so I don't know what you're talking about.
