There is ONE needed change, and it's just a bugfix. Vanish grade 2 does NOTHING due to a bug.

 

yes that would make a difference, I know that in order to be good at assassin you need to know how to use vanish,
but Freeze uses a Corrupted Speed Potion Effect(+128 is corrupted effects) which game mechanic wise can only be replaced by a higher effect.
Which means because Speed is considered a positive effect Spin Attack would not remove it and even steal it,
I don't think any radical changes should be made until Stealth(Grade II Vanish) and Vampire(Grade III Spin Attack) have been updated.
What I would prefer is that Vampire would remove Corrupted Speed and Poison in addition to it's current traits,
And Stealth actually working or having a better effect, like Vanish working with Agility so you won't get revealed if you dodge(checking for damage).
The main difficulty I have with assassin is not damage or sneaking, it is escaping when not vanished or getting close enough to an enemy.

I'm soloing bob and probs qira first. :3 I know the secrets of assasin. I'd assuming you've never mastered it.
Btw assasin is TRASH at pvp and guild wars

 

I mean poison tanks for pvp. But yea, assassin can be amazing for bosses/PvE if used correctly

I can solo orange wybel on assassin but not on mage... weird aint it? ;)

Edit: I used a silver with t4 air powders... havent tried weathered on him yet ;)

Just gonna stick that in right there mk, and yea this is pre-gameplay but it's still possible.

 

Here are the thoughts of a level 98 assassin.

General consensus:
Spin attack: Great!
Vanish: Fun to mess with people, but easily counterable.
Multi-hit: Fun to mess with people, but easily counterable and useless in pvp.
Smokebomb: Great for pve, but for anything else, you might as well be hitting them with your fist for all the damage that it will do.

How to fix this:
Spin attack: Fine, but remove the effects given.
Vanish: Complete change: Make it so that when you shift you go into vanish and you get a massive speed buff, and make it so that unless you unshift you can't be seen. Would take 2 mana per second.
Multi-hit: Increase the knockback, increase the number of hits to 15, and make it so that agility will proc less than half the time that it normally would.
Smokebomb: Decrease the time it takes to effect, buff the damage multiplier to something reasonable, give the spin attack effects to this, and make agility proc less than half the time that it normally would.

And now, a spell suggestion: Grappling hook (5 mana per use)
Grappling hook would be another one of assassins' escape tools, because assassins are meant to be quick, and hard to catch, so we get grappling hook.
How it would work: The player would activate the spell by doing the combo shift left right,, which would launch a ghast tear at the place where the assassin would be pointing. Where ever the tear landed, the assassin would be dragged in a arc to it, until they either hit something, or reached the point they aimed for.

 

This would make assassin almost as OP as it was...
1) You complain about smoke bomb, but it has the highest dmg of all of assasains spells.
2)multihit can be EXTREMELY useful against bosses.
3) why should assassin be the only class with 5 spellz

 

Yeah after you have gotten to the endgame twice and you buy good gear because you know of broken builds, for everyone else the boss is impossible to solo I don't know if you know that they changed it so that there are no camping spots

 

ok 1st yea that is pregameplay, 2nd look at the amount of pots he used .. HOLY CRAP (ive seen plenty of ppl do pregameplay... when multihit was actually good..... do you see my point?)
