World New Crate Reward: Unlockable Name Colors

Just a little idea I thought I'd suggest on a whim.

Basically, it works as such.
When you unbox a Crate, whether from a package or from Daily Rank Bonuses, a new reward that you could get is a Name Color.

Name Colors are pretty self-explanatory.
When you click on the Name Colors tab (signified by a Dye Item) in the /use menu, it brings up a menu with different Name Color items, in the form of Colored Wools.
From here, you can choose whichever Name Color you want, and it will change the color of your name to said desired color when displayed in the chat.
One Name Color can be active at a time.

All players will have White unlocked by default.
VIP/Veteran, VIP+, and HERO will start off with Green, Cyan and Purple unlocked by default, so you'd be able to switch through those colors however you want if you had multiple ranks.
If you are a Non-VIP/Veteran/VIP+/Hero, but instead directly purchase Crates, any Name Colors you unlock from then on will be applicable too.

To disable Name Colors from appearing in chat, type /toggle colors to do so.

The rarities for the colors are as follows:

• Rare
  • Rose Red (A considerably brighter shade to discern from Admins.)
  • Lapis Lazuli Blue (A darker blue to prevent confusion from discern members.)
  • Dandelion Yellow
  • Cactus Green
• Epic
  • Lime Green (VIP/Veteran unlocked by default.)
  • Purple (HERO unlocked by default.)
    
  • Light Blue (VIP+ unlocked by default.)
• Godly
  • Light Gray (This one is a bit iffy; it doesn't really look all that different compared to White anyway.)
  • Gray (This one is a bit iffy; it may be hard to look at if the chat window opacity is turned up.)
  • Rainbow (This one is very iffy; it may be hard to implement because of how specific the colors are. That, and rank titles are too short to have a good effect.)
• Unavailable (Through Normal Means)
  • Admin Red
  • Moderator Orange
  • YouTuber Pink
  • Content Team Cyan

What are your thoughts? Leave your feedback/ideas down below.
Also, I am certain there are potential problems that could result from adding this feature.
If you notice any, I'd like to know of the best ways to resolve them too.

I don't think mc chat can support so many colors

 

It normally has 16, the only 2 here that wouldn't work are the light orange and light pink.

I say yes to everything except having the RC tag in front. Titles and such are already cluttered as it is.

 

In that case, I guess I'll have to remove Orange from the obtainable pool.

i think its fine how it is. i dont want the chat to look like this:

so 16 colors minus admin (&4) mod (&6) builder/gm (&3) youtuber (&d) npc (&2) and I think that's it

 

While I like the suggestion itself, I am not sure if it'd be such a good idea to implement it; all those colors might cause even more confusion for newbies who don't know which colors is part of which rank, seeing how even now people mistake donators for CT members.
(and the prefix solution might mess up chat a lot)

Maybe instead of having any color, specific ranks can get different shades. So VIP+ would have 3, b, 9.

If it was just the players name and not the rank, it'd be fine, then it's easy to tell rank from the offset :)

 

Changed to be Name Colors instead of Rank Colors.
Now, instead of changing the color of your rank, it changes the color of your name that displays in chat.

 

Absolutely not.

Saying this on behalf of everyone who plays on servers where you can purchase chat/username colors.
This makes chat look extremely obnoxious and hard to look at.

Also, there is no brown color code. Only &6 which is gold ("moderator orange"), nor is there two pinks, only &d, the color of Hero.
