A Way To Nerf Poison

    Most of us know that poison is too op because it's just neutral damage that can't be reduced or countered (other than constant healing and thorns) in an effective manner.

    What I think should be done to poison is to make it earth damage. It would make the most sense out of every form of damage. Its damage can be buffed by earth damage% and can be reduced and countered by earth defense%. With this addition, I think poison shouldn't be affected by thorns since poison is an effect and not a direct attack, but maybe reflection could.

    What do you guys think?

    They should just reduce the poison on items so that it'd be as effective as a raw spell damage build, which is a niche strategy.

    60% of it should be affected by defense/agility. That way you still have some confirmed damage if you stick a player.

    I just wanted to see if I can also suggest an idea.

    (Only if poison equipment is not going to be touched,) maybe add a thing like poison effectiveness for each hit or spell dealt. Like, maybe to make slow melee builds a little stronger, poison effectiveness should increase from 40% to 100% from super fast to super slow.

    And then I have a small idea about balancing area of effect in spells with their poison effectiveness. For instance, ice snake can only deal 30% of the total amount of poison. Only logically a spell like ice snake that covers a large area in a controllable line and costs a very small portion of mana enough to be spammed should not be dealing a cataclysmically large DPS to like, 100 mobs that are affected by the ice snake's poison. And also, it is an ice snake; I do know that it also has "snake" in it, but as an "ice snake" it is pretty much an inanimate object that can be controlled by the user. But I am not necessarily saying the spell's "element" should render poison useless (so that is why I suggested 30%). It is an identification, after all.

    Also, don't make poison actually have knockback power. It's just strange, isn't poison supposed to make them stutter instead?

    Honestly, Even then it won't be balanced. For example, assuming you have max poison on everything, a set consisting of Cancer, Terra's Mold, Leggings of Desolation, Scorpio, 2 Rycar's Elations, Krolton's Cruelty, And Planet Healer, you will deal 4531 Damage per second with poison. Even with 66.6% Dodge change or Damage reduction, you STILL take 1510.2 DPS, which is more than many mythics
