This is a great idea. It would be nice to have micro events so that you would be more aware of your surroundings.

I think these should be limited to players under the typical lvl min of the region. Additionally, the following includes how I would like to change these effects.

Coastal Region: Slowness, due to water overflowing onto the shore sometimes, but increased mana regen, due to proximity to water, the element of spells and mana.

    Mesa: Like you said.

Canyon of The Lost: Keep it how it already is, due to the time it already takes players to learn navigation, and major block lag from such movements.

Desert: Like you said, but lessened mana regen, due to lack of water, the element of mana and spells.

Sky Islands: Instead of gusts, less sprint, due to less oxygen, and also upward pushing air current, so you may get boosted up as you move across island via jumping or charges.

Swamp: Like you said, but increased mana regen.

    Nether/Portal/Molten Heights: Extreme mana drain.

Nessak, Icey areas: Extreme Slowness and Blindness, with no effect to mana.

Ice Canyon/Frozen Heights: Like you said.

Llevigar Plains: Like you said, but giant chat message.

Kander Forest: Move effect to Nivla.

Selchar: Only affects lower elevation areas, so not the main part of the city, which was intentionally, built high up.

Also there should be mounts, that are more used to each region's climates.

    That I like

I think that ruins the whole exploring aspect

I could see a donkey for the CoTL

Heres the thing. I get why water would be plus mana, but do me a favor. Go stand in water. In wynn, when it water, your mana regens MUCH slower. Kind of counter-intuitive, I know, but thats how it works.

Would it make more sense for the effects to not affect only after you have completed all of the region's quests.

Ah so thats why you put decreased mana regen in wet regions.

I feel like there should be ways to defend against these environmental effects, because it would be frustrating if you had to trudge through an area while hampered by them.

I think this is a great idea! Maybe you could give a little more detail. Like how much damage will rock slides do, how much longer will waves make the V.S.S. Skipper take, how long do blizzards or tsunamis last, and the likes. Make sure it isn't too dangerous, as Wynncraft can already be very difficult cult, especially with new players. (For COTL not to drastic, as it is already a confusing piece of hell).

Also, if you really want to make this into a well implemented idea, maybe you could make a lower level quest introducing these effects. I would be happy to help you with it.

That is all of my feedback. +1 Supporter

why don't you also have an increase in elemental damage based on the region so for example, coastal trail and ocean islands, and nessak boost water dmg, mesa and canyon increaces earth dmg, anywhere higher than (y=100) blocks (mountains) have extra air dmg, and molten heights, netherportal other places have extra fire dmg.

I am aware, and I feel that the concept is great. It's just that if you give some more values and detail it can be a full blown idea, and get the supporters it needs to be added to the game! This is just my advice, because I would really love to see this implemented, so I am just giving you ways to improve :) Just keep an open mind towards it?

    Seriously?
While this concept is interesting, when it comes to gameplay, there needs to be a line between "realism" and "annoyance".
All these environment effects do, are to make gameplay even more tedious because of how you have to handle 12 different environmental effects as they appear, some of which will harm you no matter what you do.
While you might not care that it's a hindrance, others like me do care, because we're not used to having negative effects straight up imposed on us for no beneficial reason.
So just flat out telling me that what I'm saying is wrong because you don't agree with it, is not going to win me over in any way.

Whats the point of a new addition if theres a thing that just negates it?
