World New Quest - The Emerald Touch - Level 91 [58 Supporters!]

Talk to Medus in a house at Rodoroc at (1085 28 -5247 - will be same, but blocks are replaced with emerald blocks)

(Talking to Medus before proper level)
[1/2] Medus: Hello? Please help me! Oh you're not level 91...
[2/2] Medus: I guess I'll just die here then...

[2/7] Medus: Hey, you don't look like a villager... Oh! You're one of the recruits from Wynn!
[3/7] Medus: I desperately need your help! I've been cursed!
[4/7] Medus: Everything I touch turns into emeralds. I cannot eat or drink.
[5/7] Medus: I will soon perish. I need you to find the cure for me.
[6/7] Medus: I have a friend named Diany who works in the mines. Surprisingly, she is a master in medicine.
[7/7] Medus: Perhaps she can help. If you get the cure I will pay you generously!

Talk to Diany at 970 25 -5070

[1/2] Diany: Hmmm... It seems like we're missing a shipment of crushed endstone.
[2/2] Diany: I could've sworn we were fully stocked... hmm.

[1/7] Diany: Hey! You aren't authorized to be here! Get out!
[2/7] Diany: Oh, Medus sent you? Terribly sorry... So what has the fool gotten himself into this time?
[3/7] Diany: A curse you say? Again? Wow, that's twice in the same week.
[4/7] Diany: Hmmm, I am sure I have something in my lab that can help him.
[5/7] Diany: Here, take this [Lab Key] and put it in the lock over there.
[6/7] Diany: I'll be with you in a few moments, I just need to remember where I put the...
[7/7] Diany: the... um... the thing... what was it?

(Upon going through you will be teleported to into a large laboratory built inside one of Rodoroc's mineshafts. There will be lots of shelves with potions, powders, etc.)

[1/6] Diany: Who are you? Why are you in my lab? Wait, is that my key?
[2/6] Diany: Oh, we just spoke? Medus? A curse? Oh goodness, sorry. I have such a poor memory these days.
[3/6] Diany: What curse was it again? Ah, the infamous emerald touch.
[4/6] Diany: What's that? You havn't heard of it? You must not be a native here.
[5/6] Diany: Truthfully, I am not the real master of medicine that Medus makes me out to be.
[6/6] Diany: The real expert is my assistant, Dagroth. I'm sure he is around here somewhere. Go find him, he can help you.

(After dialogue)
[1/1] Diany: I'm not sure I remember you coming in. What did you say your name was?

Stage 5

Locate and speak with Dagroth.

(Before quest)
[1/4] Dagroth: Don't bother explaining the situation. I already know everything I need to.
[2/4] Dagroth: The emerald touch, known as arcuntalia by us experienced shamans, is not an uncurable disease.
[3/4] Dagroth: The cure is relatively simple you see. You need 3 ingredients. A [Blessed Twig], a [Scorchstone] and a [Divine Shard].
[4/4] Dagroth: Each ingredient can be found in and around Rodoroc. Exit through the door behind me.

(After quest)
[1/1] Dagroth: Go on now, your friend will not survive much longer.

Stage 6

Find the ingredients in Rodoroc and bring them to Dagroth

Blessed Twig
Located at 1176 43 -5454
Will spawn as a mob at the base of the tree.

Blessed Twig Mob
20000 Health
No health regen
No knockback
Around this location, a fair bit of mobs will spawn, so that you need to deal with killing the twig and the mobs at the same time. The mobs will not do much damage, but will be very resistant to magic damage. Eventually, they should swarm and kill you if you are not careful. (Tell me if this is too op or just dumb in general).

Scorchstone
At 1306 10 -5182 there is a fire tree made of glass, coal blocks and obsidian. This tree would be scaled wayy up. It would also be centered more inside of the lava area. There will be parkour that leads you to the top of the tree. At the top of the tree, will be scorchstones all over the "leaves". They will be in item form, not mob form.

Divine Shard
At 1127 10 -5134 there is an area with signs titled "Monument of Valor". On the back of this wall, on the chisled stone brick will be a button. When you press the button, parkour will appear on the warrior statue of the monument. It will lead you to the top of the warrior's head. Once you are on top of the statue, there will be another button on top of a diamond block. If you press that button, a door / cave entrance will open up on the back side of the mage statue at 1164 32 -5136. Going into this cave (if you arent doing the quest you enter) will teleport you into a larger cave that has a door at the back. In the center of the room will be the [Divine Shard]. Blocking the exit will be four NPCs, Kiriost, Abduce, Ockar, and Delinaed. Talking to any of them will start this Dialogue

(you cannot go through the door without talking to them)

[2/7] Kiriost: Is not what it appears...
[3/7] Ockar: The man in green...
[4/7] Abduce: Will end the beginning
[5/7] Kiriost: And when all falls

Stage 7

(after collecting all ingredients and giving them to dagroth)

[1/3] Dagroth: Hand over the ingredients. Perfect. I am surprised there have not been affected by the c... nevermind that.
[2/3] Dagroth: The cure is completed. This should heal your friend.
[3/3] Dagroth: Give it to him, and he will slowly go back to normal.

Give Medus the cure

[1/4] Medus: Oh my... It's finally mine... I didn't think you were actually foolish enough to believe me.

[4/4] Medus: Y..y....you should leave now... Oh no, no, no... You should s..stay for some.... fun...

(you will be teleported into a cave filled with contraptions and industrial-looking items. A cutscene will begin in which this dialogue will occur)

[1/13] Medus: I suppose you're mighty confused at this moment. Y...Yes? All of these machines harvest magical energy.
[2/13] Medus: You see, this all magic is p..powered by this energy. It comes from our world's deepest, darkest depths.
[3/13] Medus: This energy does not have a physical form, buy with a bit of industrial magic you get something like these..
[4/13] Medus: I have been working on my m..machines for the entirity of my life.
[5/13] Medus: But finally, after m..much testing, I have perfected the design. There was one thing left. A power source.
[6/13] Medus: I knew I had my opportunity when you showed up.. a naive, stupid human..
[7/13] Medus: I knew Diany's pathetic assistant would help you create the cure.. Even he doesn't understand it's true power.
[8/13] Medus: Why didn't I just do it? I am unable to touch the materials for the cure. Laws of purity and whatnot.. You wouldn't be able to comprehend it.
[9/13] Medus: But, once they are combined they make perfect fuel for my machines... They will burn for centuries!
[10/13] Medus: So you must be wondering, why did I have you s..stay here?
[11/13] Medus: Well... It's kind of funny when I think about it.. hahHAha..
[12/13] Medus: This pump here will drain all of the worlds magical energy and channel it to me... I'll just... test some of the power on you... heh... I wonder if I could raise the dead?
[13/13] Medus: Ooo, I'm so e..excited! Here, let me just f..flip this lever and...
(Medus flips a switch in the cutscene, and the lights flicker on and off. Glimpeses of the magic energy can be seen flowing into him in the form of multicolored particles. Eventually the lights stay dark for several seconds. When the lights turn back on, you are not immovable and need to kill Medus, who is now a boss)

Stage 9

Kill Medus!

Medus - Note: I have never designed a boss before so I am aware this is probable terrible. Tell me how to fix it!

- Arcane Nova [Shoot a huge blast of energy out in 7 blocks in all directions. Does 500-1500 damage and bypasses armor. Has a warmup, so if you keep dealing damage to him, it will be interupted]

After killing him, you can exit through the cave / door entrance behind where you spawned. Upon going through the cave you will be teleported back into Dialy's lab, next to Dagroth

[2/4] Dagroth: Yes, I knew that his intentions were not pure. He has been scheming for much longer than he says.
[3/4] Dagroth: Do not worry, I he would fall to you, as I have the sight of the elders.
[4/4] Dagroth: I suppose I should thank you for your service. Here take this parting gift, for I have no use for it anymore.

It seems like an interesting quest but there's a lot of running around. Started in molten heights, do it in molten heights.

 

This is a really good quest! It just has a few grammar errors, but for the most part, it's perfect! Nice job!

 

Thanks for the feedback. I would like to have it set up this way, but there really isn't that much running around in my opinion. You start in Rodoroc, go through a tunnel that goes to Eltom. There's a simple route between Eltom and Cinfras. I also feel like navigating between the two cities will also be part of the challenge. The canyon of the lost has always gotten me into trouble one way or another.

Some sentences, like Medus' fourth line, need periods at the end.

Line 3 and 4 of Cinfras Mayor's speech needs commas.

Not to be rude, but you still missed a bunch of periods in Diany's speech, Cinfras Mayor's speech, and you never fixed the commas.

 

isn't Eltom supposed to be super-secret as the ONLY human settlement in Gavel? which I think has laws not allowing humans to settle there

Gavel has laws against humans settling in Gavel
thus Eltom is super-secret because it is not supposed to exist

 

The tunnel requires a key, and only top advisors (and the player now) has those. I dont see it being a problem.

if Diany is a villager than she can't know about eltom
and Cinfras's mayor certainly cannot know about eltom
no villagers may know of eltom's existence

 

If you've done the quest, you know that Thesead, and most likely other cities know of and accept Eltom. Also, who said Diany is a villager. She could be a dwarf, human, or maybe even an elf.

 

I like the idea of the quest.
Some grammar errors, a bit too much running and the spell part with the robed guys was kinda confusing and a bit thrown out there

Thanks for the feedback. And I don't see a problem with running. I mean look at the old tower of amnesia. As for the spell thing, that is the beginning of a new idea I have. If this gets enough support I'll make the quest that is supposed to branch off of this. Either that, or I'll change this quest.

If you talk to the starter NPC before the proper level, you need to say what level you must be to do the quest. Here's an example:
