World Ingame World Map(s?)

So, I don't know the specifics of it (so you guys can comment suggestions for it) but here's my idea: an in game map, like the one already made on the website, but a smaller version in game that you can buy from like merchants in nearby towns of an area for better navigation of the place your in. Now for the question I know that will be asked: But why would we need this if we have a map on the site already? Well, for people with good computers and/or multiple monitors the map on the site is just fine for them, but this idea is more for the people with bad computers and/or only 1 device (the computer) that they can have it up on. I have a bad computer myself, and having the map up and the game at the same time sometimes lags me, so I thought it would be cool to have a merchant that sold a map of the local area so you can use the map for an area you will be in for a while instead of lagging with the whole map open tracking friends and everything (although the tracking thing is cool). So, tell me what you guys think, what could make it better, or if it's not that great of an idea, I'm open to input! (Note: I mean like a vanilla map just enlarged to show the whole biome and has the little red arrow to show where you are)

 

There are already local maps ingame... But they are at the start of areas (Like the entrance of the light forest or in llivenger)

 

Not sure if they can do the red arrow.. But there is a map for the canyon of the lost which is really the only map you need...

 

oh, haven't done canyon of the lost yet. I'm ganna keep this here though just to get some more input. Cause I think a map for like the dark forest and stuff would be helpful too (at least to me)

Would the mod be laggy on bad computers though? Cause my suggestion is aimed to support people with bad and laggy computers. And dumb people like me who for some reason can't figure out how to get mods on vanilla minecraft xD
