General Thoughts On The Gameplay Update

I'm really late on this video. I'm sorry. Also I learned my lesson from last time, this is not a hate video.

 

I didn't hear much about the boss altars, or didn't you try them out at all?

Aside from that, I am glad to hear that we've improved. Any improvement is a step in the right direction, and the 90-95 quest gap will be filled given time. There's definitely more in the works for that.

In my opinion, the token-locks in the dungeons also serve another purpose; they force you to fight. In previous dungeon iterations you really didn't need to fight any of the enemies; you could just run right past them without a second thought 'til the boss. Now, you have to put yourself in danger to fight and obtain the tokens, which I think increases the overall difficulty.

Awesome! I noticed you tried the Matryoshka Idol...that was essentially a proto-altar boss. That was essentially my original idea for how they would work before Salted decided to give junk/misc. items more use; you would just stumble upon them and bam, there's a boss, and they would -always- drop a single special item instead of having a chance to drop multiple ones. I do still love the Matryoshka Idol's design, but I'm probably not going to turn it into an altar proper, because the fight does take a while however fun it might be and I fear it might get tedious having to grind items for it as well...plus there's already a Jungle altar.

Oh, I also am glad you enjoyed Seavale. I initially just wanted to add an undersea cave for the Temple of Legends revamp, but then I got the idea in my head to add a whole reef around it...and then from there came treasure trawling. Good to see you enjoyed it!

 

My favourite thing in Wynn is fighting all the diffetent crazy bosses that they come up with. While some bosses havent changed in this update the ones that have are 10x better then the old ones.

Some bosses do stand out more, like the Zombie dungeon boss which is my favourite boss in the game.

I know that it's hard making interesting bosses in a limited game like Minecraft, but what you are making now is already amazing and I only expect it to get better from here. :D

 

Ok, this has flown under my radar for a week.
I want to point out a few things from the video, but first:

Dungeon Bosses: I'm surprised that you didn't mention the revamped bosses in the Dungeons section of your video. They each have a special gimmick that makes each one unique. Which leads to this question: which revamped dungeon boss is your favorite?

What you said about the reward for ???: It seems you left out the "other reward" which I will talk about more in the next section.

XP Grinding: The "other reward" from ??? is the Cosmic Set which, when wearing all four pieces, you get a 50% XP Bonus and then some from the XP IDs on each piece. After completing the ??? myself and equipping the set, along with a couple of accessories with bits of XP boost, I went to the Freezing Heights grind spot and it actually gained me much more XP in a certain amount of time. The Cosmic Set really makes XP grinding more bearable to do in order to progress through the levels that don't have quests. In short, the Cosmic Set is worth the trouble and struggle of completing ???.

And finally, no mention of the cute Wybels in major towns? They're actually gonna become a pet in the Wynncraft Store, as teased by the Wynncraft Twitter. (The Wybels are of @Selvut283's design, btw.)

 

The cosmic set can give a max of 150% xp bonus on it's own, as well as 50% loot no matter what from the set bonus. Combine that with a decent Altum Spacium from the same quest, and you get 170% xp bonus max from one quest. With the right weapon and accessories, you can easily surpass 200% which essentially triples the xp you gain. It makes grinding sooooo much easier, I actually grinded from level 93-97 which would have been torture before this update.

 

What I meant was that the Set Bonus gives you 50% XP Bonus.

 

I honestly love ??? It's so unique, and while you may look up the answers to the puzzles, some(like the computer or memeory puzzle) actually are random, and require skill. It's also very fun to coordinate and cooperate players with the minecraft chat system, especially when you're all crazy xD.

As for dungeon tokens, how do you want to change the fight section so that it's challenging and you can't skip it? One thing that always irks me with these videos is you give a big fat list of problems but don't ever suggest how to fix them.
