Update To 1.11!

While this would be nice to have, we're a little slow when it comes to updating versions. I'm sure it's the idea in the far future, but we have to wait for some time.

 

Why am I so triggered when seeing this

 

if gavel takes like 2 years, updating to 1.11 would take atleast 3 years.

Anyhow, commandblocks were changed how they react to eachother, not much about commands. Having said that, if we copy and paste commands into new blocks, instead of rewriting them, that would take much less time.

 

im sure theres only atleast over 1000 commandblocks, have fun with that.

Updating to 1.11 would probably be a bit tricky. There would be a lot of work to update command blocks and plugins, but really that's the only thing we have to worry about. I'm a server owner myself and I know the struggle.

I would like to add a few benefits to updating:
Structure blocks. Hundreds of command blocks with /fill can now be replaced by a single redstone-powered block.
The per-durability textures. We no longer have to use slabs as weapons, plus multiple armor textures.
Shulkers, Husks, Strays, Polar Bears, Evokers, Vindicators, and Vexes.
Effects like luck, bad luck, glowing, and levitation would be cool to see.
There's a lot of little changes in these few updates that make Wynncraft cooler. I'd love to see a quest where you have to use the elytra to fly through a cave or a boss that throws lingering potions at you.
And the most important reason ever... here it is...

The biggest problem with updating is that many players still use 1.8. Wynncraft might lose some of its playerbase by updating, so we'll have to see how many people continue to stay on 1.8 after 1.11 releases.

Making Wynncraft 1.11 would take some work but the amount of added features would make it worth it. I suggest bundling it with a huge update (say, a new province or the guild rewrite) so that the amount of time put into it is justified.

 

The one reason I disagree:

Do you know how fucking annoying it is to switch from 1.8 to 1.9 or 1.10. It takes forever, and I hate it.

 

Forgot to tell you. The reason it didnt work for you is because the code was registered to 1.8

Reguster it to 1.9 and youll be all fine. Same goes with 1.11.

 

If you ctrl+ middle button a chest, sign or command block it keeps the code/text in

1.8 is easier to learn, it's literally just CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK!!!
1.9 takes some skill to figure out, but I dislike how it encourages a more defensive and cautious playstyle, because it feels so clunky and slow to me.

 

It's still possible to spam click with a hoe. It might even be better than a sword.

What do you even mean? How would fighting with a hoe be better that a sword?

 

Depending on the enchants, yes, its better than an unenchanted sword.

 

Why would the Wynntron take long and all the other stuff be done in a few months? Imagine having to redo every single command block in the game! Every single... one... of... them... We probably won't even be able to find all command block stuff, we'll forget a few and a lot of contraptions won't work anymore.

I don't think upgrading will help us that much, we could however, have Jumla write a converter for the command blocks. That could work, but it would still take ages on Jumla's side.
