Update To 1.11!

So here is a list of reasons why we should:

1) It is much cheaper to run a server!
With redstone in 1.8, it takes twice the amount of GPU to run it on a server. If we go to 1.9, we would cut lets say... a third of the GPU cost (Cuz mobs and stuff take GPU also) which would make running a server alot cheaper. A good way to fix the problems mojang brought upon us when the fucked our store.

2) Shields!
There is a shield suggestion that is dead, but it is such a good suggestion! Imagine shields added! https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/1-9-shields-40-supporters.144516/

3) Treasure Maps!
We could add buyable treasure maps that lead to loot 4 chests! So if I go to bremminglar, I could buy a map that leads to the t4 chest in the lion cave. And the chest would be marked with a red X, and a dotted line going from Brmminglar to the chest. These could aslo be used for relics.

?) Tell me!
Why you said no if you did so. And if you didnt, proof you hadnt read this thread.

4) Capsules!
We can re texture the skulker chests to become openable capsules. The way these would work is I would go to Cinfras and buy a capsule which has a completely random item in it, so its like a gamble.

5) More Blocks!
We could use all these new blocks to make coool things such as giant skeletons of slain dragons in Ahmsord.
-But sagitt, we can make them out of quartz!
-But quartz is ugly af...

6) More Stuff!
Im sure there is more we can add, be sure to tell me what you think I should add to the thread, and Ill add it (If it is at all reasonable)

1) bugs bugs bugs
2) pvp is crap
3) too much work
4) shields would heavily unbalance many classes
5) might screw with many of wynn's features

 

1) Redoing the redstone isnt that bad, it wuld take around 3 months, but that isnt too long.
2) We dont use swords in pvp, dont know what you are smokin
3) Its not that much work, you can just put in coords and have it a sellable item like any other.
4) Shields would be balanced in a way, you just didnt think it through.
5) Again, redoing the command blocks would take around 3 months (Except for the ??? ones, the wynntron would take a while)

the bugs bugs and more bugs aren't redstone based
shovels were also screwed around with so warrior is heavily hit
your comment on 3 makes little sense
shields unless properly coded would screw with high defense classes like warrior
and "would take 3 months" cue the coffee spill and the vacations

 

Code in Bukkit is the same in 1.11 as in 1.8

Shields would still be in a way, balanced.
The 3 months would be worth it. We have to update eventually.

thing is.... It's not. I was using plugins for 1.8 and then switched the server to 1.9 to test it and none of the plugins worked

 

So by your logic its best to go from 1.8-1.9 to 1.0 and then 1.11?

That would be true, if skipping over two versions didn't mean even more work. There's more to updating a server than just "How can we use these new features". That's why it takes Wynn so long to update to new MC versions.

There's ton of compatibility issues to work out even just from one version to the next. Going from 1.8 to 1.11 would just make the switch take even longer.

 

but if 1.11 capability is different then 1.9, then it would either way be more efficient to jump to 1.11.
