Game Design A More Simple Texture Pack

I am way more used to having normal textures for weapons (iron shovels for spears, sticks for wands, normal bows for bows, and shears for daggers). I think there should be a second texture pack which has the normal models for all weapons. That's all. It would be nostalgic for a lot of people, too.

Pros: more variety for people, and a way for the old players to maybe experience that old feel again

Cons: none really, maybe a little time to change the textures but that's about it.

 

Sorry to burst your bubble but, I don't think they can do that..
Most weapons are blocks...

 

If they can make a block look like a bow they can make it look like a normal bow.

 

Not sure if this is possible with how Minecraft automatically installs resource packs but it would also be a nice way for people with potato computers to be able to get the resource pack even easier.

I think the current wynn pack should be optional because truthfully if you want to play without it, go for it. You'll miss some of the game, but it's your choice. You can get used to it after a while.

 

It's technically optional already by turning server resource packs off.

 

Oh yeah. Doesn't it disconnect you though if you don't accept or have it?

So I voted no because this which shows that the items are not only just shears, shovels, bows, and sticks anymore and if anyone wanted a "vanilla" appearance, then they could just turn off the server textures

Jokes aside, I would really like a bit more customization in the resource pack. Do you want vanilla weapon textures? Just toggle that in a menu. Do you want the fancy new noteblocks or the original ones? You can change that too. That way you can have regular weapons without the rest of the textures being disabled. It would take a bit of work though.

EDIT: It actually happened to me EVERYWHERE I could not even take a walk from detlas to rymek without crashing

 

We are probably not going to end up doing this. It just creates more work than it is worth letting people get another RP to just make it look vanilla.

 

As a retired resource pack maker, I say that it sure is possible to make a resource pack with the default items as models. You could just make an item model that looks exactly like the shears for example and use that same model for all the daggers.
