A lot of the time while I am grinding, my inventory fills up with items I want to keep, but don't immediately want to head back to base. But what if I still wanted to grind?
I would love it if there was a toggleable mode, that would tell you what type of gear a mob dropped.

Ex. In the chat, a message saying "A Unique item has dropped!"

Another way this could work, is saying "An item has dropped!", in the color of the type, like yellow for unique, pink for rare, etc.
This could also work for quest mobs, where it would let you know if a quest item dropped, so you didn't miss it.

The chat message would only be told to the player(s) that can pick up the loot.

I like the idea. But coding this would be hard.

    Added more information.

Might just be underestimating the work it would take, but when an item drops, doesn't it do some stuff to tell what type it is?
When that happens, a simple message could be sent to the player the same way it decides who can pick up the item.

    I would fucking adore this.
If it told me when an item dropped and what tier it was I would be in heaven.
It should say something along the lines of "A mysterious item has been dropped!" In the color of the tier of the item that has been dropped, like you suggested. If a mythic drops, it should say something spookier.

No it wouldn't. The game already has a function for dropping an item, it shouldn't be hard to simply make it check what item type it is and send a message to nearby players with the option enabled. The part about only sending it to the players who can pick it up might be a bit harder, depending on how that part of the game is programmed, but it also shouldn't be too difficult to do.

Really? Where do I find this program?
    More importantly, is it bannable?

I believe there were some strict rules put in place about usage, but Kitten can probably explain it better.
