World Missions [30 Supporters]

    I guess I'll start off with why the current missions suck. First off, a lot of players dismiss them because they are either impossible to do, or they just don't want to to the mission. Second, missions make 0 ⎌sense. For example, I get a mission to duel players, then I duel the players, and then guess what I get, emeralds.

    Seriously, the emeralds magically appear out of thin air into my inventory. This makes absolutely 0 sense with the lore. Unless there's some weird wizard hiding in his secret lab giving players emeralds for doing random weird stuff.

    So let's take the old missions and just get rid of them entirely and replace them with new ones that actually make sense.

    So what we need is a new mission system that actually serves value, and is actually entertaining to do. It's simple, take these missions, and turn them into mini quests. For the mob ones it would go something more like this:

    Chat message:

    ???: Help me!
    You should probably help the citizen
    [Mission Started: Save Citizens]

    Description:

    With this one above, a villager/human(depends on province) would appear with a strong guard boss, and mobs would be swarmed around the cage. The boss would be programmed to not attack until the player got close to the helpless being. Once the player defeats all the mobs, the villager/human would reward the player with some XP and emeralds. The mob types and boss would be based off of region.

    Because the loot chest and dueling ones are currently pointless, we can just get rid of those entirely, and replace them with other ones like these:

    Chat message:

    ???: He's robbing the bank
    Quick, stop the robber!
    [Mission Started: Bank Robbery]

    Description:

    The players goal in this one is to stop a robber that is basically a really fast emerald imp that runs away. The robber's goal would be to basically survive for 30 seconds in which afterwards it would basically have "escaped". The player would want to kill the robber and then the player would be rewarded. This one would only happen in cities.

    These could be done by multiple players, and rewards would be provided for all the players that helped accomplish the mission.

    These are just a few ideas I've had for missions that would turn them from being boring missions that serve no purpose, to decent missions that serve some purpose and make sense.

    1. Does the daily reward make sence with the lore?

    2. The Ct has alot more stuff to do than implement this

    1. Yes, it's a magical loot chest you bring with you that refills daily. Which is possible because it's a physical object that is summoning items into it.

    2. The CT also has a lot more stuff to do than implement a seaskipper and that got added.

    3. So does powders, the gavel door, dungeons, quests, the new NPC trade system, mob abilities, parties, guilds, friends, the entire tab thing, and weapons/armor.

    4. You know what else creates lag? Having mobs spawn. Mobs still spawn.

    So were baiaicly doing the same missions over and over again since there would be little missions since its only a side/optional thing and due to the lack of missions.

    This is an interesting idea. I would definitely like to see some more advanced side mission instead of kill this and you get this.

    And now that you mention it, the rewards from the missions really aren't attached to the lore (the emerald rewards anyways).

    No, we would basically take the old missions, crumpling them up, tossing them in a trash can, and then replacing them with missions like these that make sense.
    Then why would this create lag?

    I like the idea but spawning in temporary structures creates lots of lag and making new mobs is lots of work for jum jum and the other people who create mobs

    Yes those are laggy but those are in set places. If I'm understanding correctly these missions can happen anywhere anytime and that would mean having to code it so that it's possible to have a little cage anywhere. Unless you wanted it to tp you to a room off map which would be annoying if you HAD to do this without s choice. Imagine if you were in the qira fight and got one of these. That would just be annoying

    I just thought I'd get this out there as well (not advertising) but Hypixel pulled if off with gadgets, I see no reason why Wynn can't.

    Yes but hypixel is not wynncraft. Lol I like the idea but try to get another look at a different angle to see if we can do it without making laggy things

    Yet players would get board since there won't be many missions to do, and like the old missions, they are always the same or most of the new missions are gonna be repeated

    If there are a ffffffuk ton of missions that i won't repeat most of them and with different objectives yet same scenario (ex. Instead of always chasing the robber, you can probably kill him, find him if he gets away like a side quest, or simply spy on a suspicious person). Or use missions that act like hidden quest, or repeated missions that have a better purpose (Ex. Get 10 bread or potatoes because I have no money, get x amount of items so I can make this badass sword for you and me to), Or use missions that have consequences, which effects future quest, or a mission that gives op items

    Using more of a quest system for missions would allow GM's to make more. Where missions currently don't let them do that.

    Tbh, stopping a bank robber would need to be staged somewhere like the almuj bank. so players can camp that place for daily stuff. but this is better than our current missions so half.

    You might want to specify perhaps select 'spots' where these temporary structures can spawn. I know Hypixel (not advertising) has pulled off spawning the structures here, there, and everywhere, but we're talking about a professional-grade network with well-paid, top-of-the-line developers who live and breath developing. Wynncraft has these too, no doubt about it, but simply not a large enough dev pool.

    I don't quite see something this fancy happening anytime soon, but +1 Support
