World A New Fast Travel System

So, as you all know, the gameplay update will be changing how soul points work. Now, teleportation scrolls reqire 1 soul point to use, and so with the new update, teleportation scrolls will become a much less practical way to get around.

The other day, I was running around in Eltom, and I found this:

It's an airbase.

This airbase is above Eltom, accessed by a staircase. The Whie Power VI Relic is located at the top of the tower, across the bridge.

Now, this airbase isn't used for anything at the moment, but it got me thinking.....


What if every major town had an airbase that the player could go to to in order to fly to other towns?


Now here's what I have in mind for the system:

When the player gets on the airship, a GUI similar to the class selection GUI would pop up, listing every city that you can fly to. The item shown in the GUI could be paper. When hovering over each city, it would show the price of that certain ticket to said city. The price of the tickets would be 2x the price of the TP scroll of the town that the player is flying to. The reason for the price is that the airships will not require soul points to ride, thus solving the problems with the new soul points system. Also, each ticket will have a minimum level requirement. For exmple, a ticket to Detlas would require the player to be level 15, but a ticket to Rodoroc would require the player to be level 90. This is to prevent an extremely low level player flying to a high level area such as molten heights.

After clicking on a certain city, the player will be teleported inside a flying airship. The animaion/cutscene would be similar or identical to the Cinfras-Detlas airship ride.

If the player does not have enough emeralds to buy the ticket, the GUI would close with a message along the lines of: "You do not have eneought emeralds to afford this ticket."


This airship fast travel system has come differences from the TP scroll system. A TP scroll can be used anywhere and is an item that can be traded or put into banks. To access an airbase, the player that has to be at an airbase.

Whether or not the airship system is better that the TP scroll system is up to you guys, but I will say that the airship system is a lot cooler, and better fits into the medieval theme of Wynn imo.

I really like this, but you should make it level based, so you don't have a bunch of lvl 5's around Ahmsord. Also, there is a quest that allows you to travel from Detlas to Cinfras. Make it so you cannot use the airbases in Detlas or CInfras untill the completion of the quest, or make all the airbases available after the quest.

 

Have level requirements or different quests to unlock said city. We don't want lvl 10s using le from their bank and flying to Olux. Also, I really think only the airbases would suit Gavel. This is because Wynn is missing advanced stuff, like Llevigar being made out of Quartz, a magical substance. Cinfras has bigger markets +A guild hall.

It shouldn't cost emeralds. The service to cinfras from detlas is free so why wouldn't Tis be free as well

well if we have a level 10 around olux then they'll learn their lesson to not go to areas out of their ability

 

This makes literally no sense when we already have level 1s and 2s in Ahmsord.

Exactly. If they changed the quest dialogue a bit at the end it could fit into the lore very well

And honestly this isn't needed, getting around is easy enough as is, why make it even easier. I'm not saying this is bad but it's unnecessary, Cinfras to Detlas is convenient because both are in the middle of their respective province, making it pretty easy to get from, say Troms, to Rodoroc, without needing scrolls. And if you want fast travel we HAVE scrolls, the new SP system just means you can't use them because you're too lazy to walk from Detlas to Almuj.

 

What should they change in the dialog? I haven't done the quest yet (lvl me up to 100 mods pls ;-;) but I've seen the dialog on the wiki. If it was changed to emeralds then how much should the cost be? You should make a new thread maybe, and link this thread so that the lore fits in with the idea.

The tp scrolls are infused with magic m8.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the tp scrolls are supposed to change price wether on what town you're in because you can buy them from any city for the new update.

But the lvl ten can trade with any ppl in Olux. We want people to work, it's better for the economy. Say I want to trade with someone, but all their classes are in Olux and they can't afford the tp scroll back (somebody would sell it to them)or buy a ticket back. So them or I would have to work to get the ticket/tp scroll. It's not the problem of new players, its the economy that'll die. Also, new players would file more death reports, annoying the CT/Jumla (who prob spilt his coffee and tped the guy there). It's not only a hassle for them, but us old players to have less active CT members and slower updates, since the CT can't fix any bugs faster plus Jumla would have to code slower. Jumla doesn't only do the code, Salted is also part of the CT team. I know this sounds dumb and you're all like "You stupid tem there's only gonna be 7 new player reports pfft" but bare with me here, it'll all add up.

TL;DR this'll cause many problems for everyone.
