There are some good points here, and we won't know how it is exactly until we play it ourselves. The thing is, putting chances to drop your weapons on soul points is scary for some people even if the percentage is low. Especially with the numerous ways to die in wynncraft due to bugs, and the fact that you need to spend soul points on guilds and scrolls. Losing emeralds will also be a huge problem, if you were carrying an amount of le when going to trade with someone. You could also die while afked due to swarms, or you could have to /kill when you're stuck in a block. Aside from items, putting these risks on your items means that players will have to afk more. Especially with careful players who don't want to go below 10 soul points, it just means they can't play and they'll have to afk.

Solution: Make junk items drop from 12 soul points and below, while emeralds drop at 8 soul points and items drop at 5 soul points or lower.

It will still be 95% luck-based, seeing as you can't make money off guilds yet.

 

It's already like that.
Junk will always have a chance to drop, but who cares?
Emeralds drop with low chances starting at 12 SPs or so.
And items onyl start to drop (with only 3% chance) at 5 SPs. At 3 SPs you have 10% chance tp drop items

Before the update the chances to lost stuff with 0 SPs are 100%!!! Now it's MUCH less than that.
And when you play normally, you shouldn't die too many times. You'll get SPs faster than you lose them.

Boss Altars?

 

Still. It's junk.
You get it from any mob.
And you just drop small numbers of them when you die.

You won't save junk items all the time just for the altars. Usually you throw them away by yourself anyway, and you know it's true.
Now you just look for stupid stuff to complain about. You do it on purpose.

STOP FUCKING COMPLAINING BEFORE YOU EVEN TRIED IT!!!
It's a good and needed feature. You'll see.

 

Do scrolls factor into this? So if I had 13 sp and I used a scroll then died would it factor what I drop would it be factoring 2 lost soul points or 3

Emeralds only or also currency like emerald blocks or liquified emeralds?

 

I can't say much about the new system since I haven't played it yet, but what I can say is that Salted fixed the wrong thing. The biggest problem wasn't losing all your stuff (for most people, that is), but it was having to wait until your SP regenerates to play again. Yes, you could go on a different class, but not everyone wants to do that. It should be possible to buy SP for a harder to obtain currency, maybe one gotten from killing bosses at altars or from finishing a ToA floor/Hive division (alongside getting a voucher). It would have to be carefully balanced though so the player doesn't have too much or too little of it. You could also make a bomb to double the amount of this currency gained, seeing as Salted would like to sell Soul Points.
