Why Mage's Heal Needs A Change

You mean no boss in the history of the game, yes?



You mean the bosses that people are too lazy to put in real effort towards beating and instead hire fifteen mages to shove healing magic down their throats and in their eyes and through their unmentionables every 0.2 seconds to cheap out, yes?



You mean the method used by people that constantly bemoan the game being too easy, yes?



You mean the heal spam that makes the hard work we put into making fun balanced bosses even within the limited system we have to constantly try to work around and put up with null and void and be constantly harangued by it every single time we see someone who breezes by the game with their harem of healers, YES?!

Mobs can easily burn through heal. Of course you will need a hoard to kill a mage but it's the same with all classes. And I can tell you this, mage's get fucked just as often as any other class because we don't carry potions.
A mana build supposedly regens the mana every four seconds but that only works if you arent running jumping or casting spells meaning the mage actually has to stand still for four seconds without mana or run around for a while with no mana. Spamming heal means that the mage is loosing, an occasional heal means you are in control of the situation.

 

So now, assassin is now a straight up counter to mage?

Yet a mage can still teleport out if their fked, so can an archer, buuuuut archers are easy to kill (unless they use arrow bomb) so I won't get into that

I really like the way how @Chocolaty_Bear gave us arguments about the benefits of leaving mage and assassin as they are. Those are the words of a wise man who knows how to discuss!

Let me give you a scenario: You are fighting Bob, he has 1000 health left, and you have 500. You quickly cast heal, but too late. He charged across you before it could regen fully.

 

Welcome to the life of literally any other class

 

Let's see. Heal costs 6 mana. So.

Assassin: Spin2Win
Warrior: Bash him away
Archer: Turn him into a pincushion w/Arrow Storm

 

Also, acknowledge the fact that the suggestion entails 1/4 of the normal instant health boost, as well as full regeneration (so you get 25% more than usual). You still get some instant HP.

Have you EVER played assassin. You just camp on the roof at Detlas and rain down smoke bombs until they find where you are. YOU don't go to them, THEY come to you. The "smoke bomb to keep assassin good at close range" is BS, and might actually hurt an assassin, considering that it has the potential to pull hard hitting melee mobs to you, when you want to keep them away.

 

What the fuck
Raining smoke bombs is a terrible tactic.
And why would they ever come to you if they can use range and you can't?
And while there might be inconveniences, there may be a way to cancel pulling in the smoke bomb.

 

It kinda already is, considering spin attack's bonus thunder damage and the fact that that's pretty much the only way I know of to be able to break through a mage's healspam

Because people are stupid. And there's a place on top of the Detlas bank you can retreat to where neither arrow bomb or meteor can hit you. There's literally been one time out of the 18 (I think) times I've done this that I've actually seen someone NOT attempt to get onto the roof with me.

How bout NOT using smoke bomb as a net, and maybe giving assassin a buff, indirect or not, to vanish?

Well, Healspam is literally just rightclicking,leftclicking,and rightclicking again. It doesn't take that long, requires little effort and usually completely fills the healthbar. Not very hard, especially for mana regen mages. Compare that to having to solo a boss as an assassin (which I've done THREE TIMES, because my godamn team keeps leaving). It requires perfect timing and aim on EVERYTHING, from smoke bomb or vanishing to avoid a charge, or spin attacking at the start of an arrow storm to not get the equivalent of a shotgun to the face, to knowing when you have to back off and recover. Compared to that, healspam is easy and efficient

 

mage dosn't need a debuff, mages have the lowest damage of all the classes so the heal evens it out, if the heal is nerfed or debuffed the the mage damage should be buffed

 

I actually think of mage as the perfect assassin counter, the aoe attacks counter the vanish and the only way to kill a mage will be a smoke bomb then a multi hit or two multi hits but being hit by multi hit lets you heal mid way so you have max hp at the end. smoke bomb is just take a step to the side and heal and spin isn't really helpful against mages.

I can get as any class onto every roof in detlas (except the hourglass and the twin towers) without using spells.

I do 20k meteors 6k ice snakes and 4k tp's mage damage isn't that low.

 

But when you start a new class it shows the stats of all the classes and mages damage is the lowest so its a bit difficult for new rising mage's.
