Small correction guys, I just noticed this now and I'm on phone so I can't change it, but the first image for choosing the background colour should have an ink sac instead of a black banner on the top right, like the second one. Sorry people with OCD :(

You'd have to make 208728361158759 different textures, as you can put up to 9 shapes on your shield.

I said that you can do your own, but if you're in a guild then you can choose to use a design specific to your guild (designed by the guild master of course). It would be stupid to force people to use their guild's shield, and for people who are not in guilds it would be stupid to not allow them to have their own shield designs.

I don't think Wynncraft has much to lose by embracing the 1.9 systems. The combat system here is quite above spam clicking for the most part, and its also largely PvE depending on what you do ingame. They could just tone down the cooldown. I personally like the cooldown, but I don't think its suitable for a MMORPG. Otherwise, the more updated Wynncraft is, the better content we get.

 

The shields are generated based on what you added to them, so you'd just have to re-map the texture so that it shows properly (assuming that you can) and make a single model & texture (possibly 39 textures for each of the different shapes, but that's nowhere near the 208*10^12/208 trillion that you'd have to do for every combination) then generate shields as you would in vanilla.

It would cut off all players who aren't part of a guild and only guild owners would be able to use the feature fully, it's like making it so that every player must use the skin that their guild's owner chose, and player's not in guilds would have to use the default skin. My idea is to incorporate both the guild aspect and make it fair to everyone else instead of cutting them off from one of the core features of this suggestion.

They can choose whatever they want, kind of like their skin. They can always opt to set the shield's design to their guild's one if. It's kind of like vinyls in car games or something, to make yourself look cooler.

 

its a good Idea But the thing is Wynncraft isn't going to update to 1.9 soon I don't think. Plus if it did then wouldn't the texture pack break or is that just me xD. Last thing: I'm Not sure that all of the code in wynncraft is able to be in 1.9 and still function.

 

It does take them a bit to update to new versions but 1.11 is gonna be out soon enough and we'll need to update someday. I don't think it will be soon either though :P
