    Hello everyone, TrollPlaysGames here.

When guilds first came out, they were a lot of fun and people who had maxed everything out had something to do. Back then, even the newest guilds had a chance of getting a territory.
But now only a few of the top guilds get to have most of the fun, there are way too many guilds for everyone to have a chance of getting and keeping a territory and territories get reclaimed really fast unless you hire the best mobs. + I have heard that guilds have been buggy for some time.

As the title suggests, I will be talking about my idea for a compleatly different guild system.

Before I start, I want to mention that this suggestion is based a little bit on an anime called Fairy Tail.

    1. Basics

There will be a set ammount of guilds, no more, no less. This means that players will no longer be able to easly create guilds for a few LE. There will be x guilds that you can choose to join. Some may have requirements, but there would also be guilds that anyone can join.
To join a guild, you will have to talk to the guild's master at the guild's hall. (I will talk about this in more detail at a later point.)

    2. Taking Requests
In every guild hall, there would be a request board. On the request board you would find multiple requests. You can find information on a request by clicking on it (the requests would usually be similar to wanted posters, but sometimes they can be a bit different too.) When you click on a request, it will bring up a menu.
Once you finish a request, you can give the items to an NPC at the guild hall

An example of how it would look.
Leather - This is the slot where the type of the request would be displayed, in this case it is a request for gathering items.

Book - A description of the request. This also includes the rewards.

Clock - Time until the request will go back to the board (This is to avoid someone taking a request and never finishing it)

Clay Block - Difficulty of the request.

Green/Red glass - Accept/Ignore the request (These would be the checkmark and the x in the recource pack)

! You can only take 1 request at a time !

    3. Merchants

Some of the more expensive guild halls (again, i will talk about guild halls in a later point) will have a few merchants. Most of these merchants would be different from the ones you find in towns, etc.

Each guild will have a mask merchant, he will sell (mostly just cosmetic) masks that resemble the guild. The guild members with a really good reputation in the guild (mostly players that are in the guilds higher tiers) will have a mask of them sold at the merchant. These player related masks could change once in a while. (every few months)

Every guild hall will have a cafateria or a similar place for eating. There you will be able to buy food that restores a little bit of HP (food would be cheaper, but worse than potions) You can only eat food in areas that are made for eating, this will prevent players buying a lot of food to use instead of potions.

Most of the other merchants will come with guild hall upgrades.

    4. Guild Chat

Guild Chat would stay mostly the same, but due to the fact that each guild will have a lot more members, the guild staff will be able to assign moderators for the guild chat, to keep it under control.

    5. Guild Store

At the guild store (An NPC) you would be able to look at all of the upgrades your guild can get. To keep things under control, the guild's staff would be the only ones who can actually buy things from the store, but before they do, they would need to know if players approve.
Normal guild members will be able to vote for items (by clicking on them in the store) that they want for the guild, this will help decide, which item should be bought next.

Things that the guild could buy include guild hall upgrades, perhaps some cosmetic features and other things.

    6. Guild Balance

Every member of the guild could donate emeralds to the guild. You could do this by typing in a command similar to the current one, same goes for the command that is used to check the balance.
The emeralds in the guild balance are used for the guild to buy things from the guild store.

The top donators can vote on each item in the guild store up to 2-3 times. (depending on their place in the leaderboard)

    7. Guild Reputation

For completing requests, you will not only get items for yourself, you will also gain reputation for both, the guild, and yourself. The guilds total reputation determines the guilds place in the leaderboard. Your reputation determines your place in your guild's leaderboards and your tier in the guild.

The higher up your guild is in the leaderboard, the ammount/quallity of the requests will get better.

    8. Tiers

Your tier in the guild determines the requests you can take. Everyone gains acces to most of the general requests when they join the guild. (Tier 1) Once you get to tier 2, you are allowed to take requests from the tier 2 request board. The tier 2 request board will contain less requests, but the difficuly of the requests will be higher. Once you reach tier 3 (The last tier), you will get acces to the tier 3 board, which contains a few really difficult requests.

Keep in mind, that getting to the next tier requires a lot of time and work.

    9. Guild Staff

Each guild would have a small team of really trusted players. This team aka the guild's staff will help with a lot of things. For example, they will be the ones controlling the purchases of upgrades, helping to deal with rulebreakers in the guild and similar important things.

    10. Guild Rules

Each guild will have a set of rules. These rules may vary between guilds. The base rules will be based around the guilds description, history, playstyle etc.
The guild's staff team can add a few rules/change up the ones that they added, but they cannot change the base rules. This is here in case something was missed in the base rules. Before a rule is added, the guild's staff need to make sure that the members of the guild are fine with it.

    11. Guild Halls

Each guild will have their own guild hall somewhere in the map. The locations of the guild halls will depend on their history (in the lore), sometimes on the intended playstyle of the guild or an area that seams fitting.

Every guild hall will start out pretty basic, but each will be different.

Once the guild saves up enough emeralds, they can upgrade the hall. Hall upgrades will work like this -
When a hall upgrade is ordered, it will be added to a to-do list on the build server. The upgrade can take a month or more to be done. (less if the builders have free time to do it) This is so the guild hall upgrades don't slow down content updates and also don't feel too rushed.

    12. Putting up requests

Players will be able to set up requests at a guild of their choice. These requests will be a bit more limited than the normal ones, but they will be useful if you need to get a lot of a specific item, etc.

Player made requests will give you less reputation than normal requests. This is so the feature doesn't get abused.

To create a request you will need to talk to an npc close to the request board.
When you interact with him, you will be brought to a similar menu -
    [IMG]

Book & Quill - Create a new request

After you click this, you will be able to setup a request - Choose the type of the request, description, time until it expires, the difficulty, and add items to the request (as rewards)

    Chest - Recieve requested items

After the request you put up has been completed, you will get a reminder (similar to the unused skill point reminder) that you have unclaimed items at x guild. Once you open the menu, you will be able to take the items out. (This is to avoid loosing items from having a full inventory)

Paper - Info on your requests.

Allows you to see if the request has been taken + who took it. Also shows if someone returned the request. You can also take down your requests from this menu/raise the reward. (You cannot lower it, this is to avoid scams)

    13. A Private Forums Sub-Section for Each Guild

This would help with announcing things to the whole guild, hosting guild-only events, etc. You will get acces to the sub-section after you join the guild and have linked your forums and in-game accounts, similar to the VIP section.

    That is it for now.
I will update the suggestion whenever changes need to be done and/or I think of new features/new features are suggested.

This pretty much ruins the concept of a guild... a permanent paid party to waste emeralds and time on.

I know, but if everyone can create a guild by simply paying an npc, then guild halls wouldn't work.
I will try to think of a solution for the problem, but it could be really hard to implement if so many people make guilds.

Perhaps there could be x official guilds which get a guild hall, but the rest of the guilds get requests from a menu?

    Nope,nope,nope and once more NOPE.
You would need to disband all guilds,I'm sure that many players would quit because they've spent so much time and effort so their guild is one of the top guilds.

The dead guilds will slowly clog up the exit guild list.
Making a guild that anyone can join (like guilds on kastia) can work and will create the effect that guilds had when they were first added, everyone applies for the top guilds with a lower application rate at lower guilds.
    Make masks untradeable.
That sounds amazing but we currently have more than 3000 guilds.

No support whatsoever. This sounds like player housing in the form of guild halls. Honestly sounds a lot like Runescape Citadels.
But I don't support this whatsoever. It's just another person who is looking to devalue the guilds that are number one.

Those are the clan citadels I'm talking about. Have a read. Very similar.
