Eh, I don't think the classes were made to counter each other, but each has their strengths and weaknesses. As assassin, I probably find mage the hardest to kill because of ice snake entirely. Honestly, anyone with any class skilled enough/is a cactus would be hard to fight against, especially archers in the nether ;-; And some warriors are hell to kill for me too, such as @JaydonTheWarrior or @Killerfish
Soo yeah, I believe it's the builds that really counter each other, not really the classes, but they certainly do contribute.

One of the fundamental principles of making class ideas is to know the game and undersand the system(s)

In the context of that situation, I see what you mean.
5% of 20 health (pre-gavel) isn't that much, but 5% of 10000 health (gavel) is quite the difference.

To the first post, sorry, thought you were the guy who made the thread.
the 5% is towards your damage, not your health.

Which means if a mob needs to be hit 20 times in order to kill, the 5% would change that to 19 hits. Thats like... no difference at all.

 

In games where you are working with numbers as high as in the billions and you hit the boss for millions of damage a hit

Then you die when the boss has 1-2 hp left
