World Mana Regen

    Note: This is not a rant, I'm not salty or w/e, I even use a mana regen build myself.

    If you scroll down in the Class Builds section, you'll see that almost every "good" build has at least 4/4 mana regen. In PvE it can save you, sure, but it's wayy too unfair in PvP; being able to spam 5/6 meteors/bombs in less than 4 seconds with intelligence, then get all your mana back and do it again and again. And most of the mana regen armour and accessories aren't even decreasing other stats, like having less health or less spell damage to compensate.

    So, what about making the mana bar like the health one,having like 100 mana instead of 20 and change /4 mana regen to a %.It'd be more fair than have 19 mana back every 4 seconds.
    Or just simply nerf every mana regen item so it makes your spell damage/health terrible.

    Isn't "4/4 Mana Regen" like four mana-thingys in four seconds? Because I got 17/4 Mana Regen and I roughly generate my whole bar in four seconds.

    With 4/4 mana regen you get 4 mana each 4 seconds.

    I think this could be a good idea but mana Regen items already do give shit health tbh, raindrops give -150 health each, most armor with mana Regen either has low health to begin with or -health ids. So I kind of agree but at the same time think this is a useless argument

    Your example is bad. The only other item (for mana regen) I believe that decreases health is Suppression. Note what the two (three, if you want to use concentration as an example too) have in common: Negative health, and a lack of or low intelligence requirement, meaning every build can use them. That's my theory of why they decrease health.

    Now, let's take a look at what basically everyone uses:

    Memento has decent health. No -health. People practically ignore the life steal; it's so easily countered.

    Third Eye increases all elemental defense, still with decent health. No -health either.

    Aquarius has pretty bad health, but 7/4 mana regen and 20% spell damage is extremely strong. No -health here, only -melee which mages as of now never use.

    Crystal gives good health for its level. No drawbacks aside from the defense.

    No -health related things in any of these.

    I think this argument is a good one. In the powder changeblog though, Selvut said that with powders, people wont want to just use everything that gives them mana regen. I don't really see how, though.

    I guess that's true, I haven't really gotten to a high enough level to where mana Regen gear is op tho. Sad sad

    Just saying that intelligence does not affect spell costs in the nether exactly for this reason. You can only spam 3 bombs/meteors/uppercuts/multihits and that drains 16 manna total. And if you do not have a manna eleven build you won't be able to spam much more
