This is just a suggestion for your awesome quest, but what if throughout the levels the ring you got from Rival's Promise has a progression throughout the quests. For example, Rival's Promise - Rival's Story (infused gem) - Valir's Prize (black stone) - Friendship Ring (Cult's Enchantment Book) - True Buddies (Valir's True Friendship)

The rings will be required at the start of each quest, and the items in parenthesis are items used to make the ring into the next one.

At the last quest, I think you should add this scene...
[1/4] Wow you still keep this thing!?
    [2/4] Here lemme see that...
You and Valir feel a warm feeling
[3/4] From the first day we met...I always thought of you as a hero!
    [4/4] You're my true...friend...
    You get Valir's True Friendship

That was my original plan, but I realized that if I were to do that, the ring would have to stay a Quest Item that you keep from Lv. 10-87, which a lot of people find annoying. Also, I specifically designed the last quest. Take note that there is no quest requirement. This means that a player can do the quest without doing the others, and they would have no idea what it means. It causes heartbreak in the players that lost in The Duel, or just threw out the Stone. And it makes some players relieved that they kept the Stone, and got the "good ending" of the storyline.
TL;DR I can't really change the last quest. I designed it to cause a bit of an emotional stirrup.

    Thanks for suggesting, though!

I suggest changing Valirs Helm at the end to leggings or boots or something. Helmets are overused.

I'm guessing you get the white stone from the duel quest and if you win against valir. Do if you lose you kill him and if you win you save him?

Honestly I would kill to have this in game! Not actually kill but you know what I mean

    Yes. Here it is:
    But then there's also this:
If you don't think it's worth keeping/just takes up space, you can toss it. But that costs you the "Good Ending", and makes you (hopefully) regret it later on.

It was smart to do the thing where it isn't a quest item. That means that if you do /fixquests
It won't give you the item you need for the good ending

Really, they're all just boss fights with a bit of storyline. There's no actual content other than enemies and dialogue.

Yes, when you break it down, that is what it is. But all quests can be broken down like that. They're fetch, fights, bosses, puzzles, and storyline. What I'm trying to do is create a quest line that feels less like a quest that's been spilt into two, and more like these occurences with Valir that span over the majority of your game, and it does. These quests range from Lv. 10-87. I wanted to make a quest where it feels like these aren't juat boss fights, but memories you share with Valir. If you're an unimaginative guy, I can see why you wouldn't like this. I am but a lonely creator, tending to my quests.

Quest 1: Kill a boss, save Valir.
    Quest 2: See Quest 1.
Quest 3: Fight Valir, get random item.
Quest 4: Actually something special, there's a bit of interesting stuff happening in the cave.
Quest 5: Either fight Valir, or turn in a random item. Get great gear, and a nice amount of XP for this simple task.

I'm like 89% sure you didn't read any of Valir's dialogue, but whatever. I don't want this to become some sort of argument where I defend my idea, and you tell me everything that's wrong with it, so let's leave it at that.
