    Hello guys and gals and other genders!
    Today I wanna share with you a cool Class idea I came up with for Wynncraft: the Cannoneer!
    The Cannoneer consists on a melee ranged class that relies completely on the spells mechanic, and the concept behind this design idea is to implement some sort of cooldown-reloading gameplay.
    Even if your spell damage is high, the downside and counterplay is that your mana will drain relatively quickly.
    This is to simulate a reloading of a cannon. But fear not!
    The mobility your spells give you (knockbacks, recoil) will help you kite the enemy so you can constantly hit your enemy and move around while your cannon is loading.

    Okay so here's the basic guidelines of the class design:
    - Its a glass-cannon class (no pun intended), so it has to be squishy
    - Drains mana like crazy
    - Spells are the main damage output
    - All spells give some sort of very short duration mobility
    - Spams spells instead of basic attacks
    - Forces the player to think when to use certain spells
    - Forces the player to a cooldown where they're highly vulnerable

    So lets get straight to the Class specs!

    Cannoneer/Arcane Artillier
    Attack Damage [][][][][]

    - Class select description -
    The Cannoneer relies on its magic to deal
    high amounts of damage, and uses their
    spells' mobility to avoid damage while
    they recover their mana. Although this class
    is insanely powerful, they become very
    vulnerable when they run out of mana, and
    must take cover while they try to regain it.

    Weapon - Hand Cannon

    The Hand Cannon is what our Cannoneers will use to defeat their enemies!
    This pinnacle of Magic engineering comes from the lands of Gavel, where magic and technology are advanced. This heavy and massive machinery is hard to carry around and usually gives the player a slow attack speed/movement speed debuff when held.
    Fun fact; these machines can only fire with Magical Energy (mana)! But that does NOT stop you from crushing your foe's bones (and dreams) by flailing these heavy things around as a melee weapon. So, if you run out of mana, you can still defend yourself with it!
    But the fun begins when these thinghies become active: they can fire cannon balls, blast fire, explode right in your face and throw mines! Altho this thing will drain your mana like crazy, Hand Cannons USUALLY (almost always) come with Mana Regen IDs to compensate the slow debuffs of the weapon. As I said in the begining, this will create some sort of Shoot-n-Reload game mechanic where you shoot all your things and have to wait a second before shooting more things.

    Gameplay

    Basic attack - Cannon Swing
    The player swings their trusty Hand Cannon to the enemy's face in Melee range.
    Altho the damage you deal is decent, it wont be your main damage outcome.

    1st Spell - Cannonball|Energy Pellet [Lv.1/16/36]


    Description:
    The Cannoneer activates its magic Hand Cannon and shoots a cannonball to its target, in a linear long range, hitting enemies in a small radius. It's mana cost is very low, thus making this the Cannoneer's main attack.
    This spell causes a Recoil on the player, pushing them the opposite direction they're facing.

    Cannonier visuals - fires a ghast fireball entity in a straight line, casting smoke in front of the player.
    In grades II and III, the projectile is followed up by a trail of fire particles.

    Arcane Artillier visuals - fires a wither skull entity in a straiht line, casting smoke in front of the player.
    In grades II and III, the projectile is followed up by a trail of MagicCrit particles.

    Specs -

    Grade I
    - Mana: 3
    - Damage: 120% of Melee damage
    - Cannon balls shot: 1
    - Area of effect: very small
    - Recoil: 2 blocks

    Grade II
    - Mana: 3
    - Damage: 80% of Melee damage per Cannon ball
    - Cannon balls shot: 2
    - Area of effect: very small
    - Recoil: 2 blocks

    Grade III
    - Mana: 3
    - Damage: 90% of Melee damage per Cannon ball
    - Cannon balls shot: 3
    - Area of effect: very small
    - Recoil: 2 blocks

    2nd Spell - Short Fuse|Magic Burst [Lv.11/21/31]

    Description:
    When cast, the Cannoneer will explode a cannonball in short range causing a huge area of effect explosion in front of them, pushing both the player and the enemies in opposite directions. If shot directly on the ground, right where the player is standing, or directly to a nearby wall, the player will be launched in the opposite direction they're facing, making them able to perform rocket jumps. This spell is mainly meant to be a way to push enemies in a safe distance where you can shoot them, or a way to reposition oneself to safety.
    Either it's Recoil or the explosion, the player will get knocked back casting this spell.

    Cannonier visuals - Huge explosion in front of the player with white smoke. At grade II and III, fire particles surround the player.
    Arcane Artillier visuals - Huge colorful explosion in front of the player. At grade II and III, MagicCrit particles surround the player.
    Specs -

    Grade I
    - Mana: 3
    - Damage: 30%
    - Area of Effect: medium
    - Recoil: 2 blocks
    - Knockback: medium on enemies, high on the player if it hits them

    Grade II
    - Mana: 3
    - Damage: 40%
    - Area of Effect: medium
    - Recoil: 2 blocks
    - Knockback: medium on enemies, high on the player if it hits them
    + Overheat: gives the player a small amount of attack damage for a brief moment

    Grade III
    - Mana: 3
    - Damage: 50%
    - Area of Effect: medium
    - Recoil: 2 blocks
    - Knockback: high on enemies, high on the player if it hits them
    - Overheat: gives the player a medium amount of attack damage for a brief moment

    3rd Spell - Fire Blast|Arcane Ray

    Description:
    A very powerful, medium range attack where the Cannoneer casts a devastating blast in the direction the player is facing. This spell consumes a lot of mana, making it a gamble since it can weaken the player a lot by draining huge amounts of mana, thus putting the player on cooldown.

    Cannoneer visuals - some sort of medium range fire laser. At rank II, it leaves a trail of fire particles on the ground. At rank III, it spawns a wave of burning rocks just below the blast.
    Arcane Artillier visuals - blue/purple colored laser. At rank II, it leaves a trail of particles on the ground. At rank III, a wave of colored glass, runes and MagicCrit particles spawn as the laser is casting.

    Specs -

    Grade I
    - Mana: 8
    - Damage: 45% per hit
    - Hits: 10

    Grade II
    - Mana: 8
    -Damage: 45% per hit
    - Hits: 10
    +Combustion: 50% damage over 5 seconds

    Grade III
    - Mana 8
    - Damage: 45% per hit
    - Hits: 10
    + Devastating blow: weakens enemies for a brief moment

    4th Spell - Sticky Bomb|Time Distortion Mine [Lv.31/46/66]

    Description:
    The Cannoneer launches a sticky bomb that explodes in a couple of seconds after it hits land. The range of this spell is medium, and it has momentum. This spell gives brief buffs to the player and debuffs to the enemy.

    Cannoneer visuals - throws a falling sand entity of a glowstone lamp.
    Arcane Artillier visuals - throws a falling sand entity of a beacon.

    Specs -

    Grade I
    - Mana: 5
    - Damage: 50% when explodes
    - Time distorter: slows enemies for a short amount of time on the area the mine landed

    Grade II
    - Mana: 5
    - Damage: 100% when explodes
    + Time distorter II: gives you a short speed buff

    Grade III
    - Mana: 5
    - Damage: 150% when explodes
    +Time distorter III: freezes enemies for a short time

    um...
    Yes, that's true.
    But here's the thing:
    I think that this class would fit the Wynncraft universe well and would add some variety on its gameplay and stuff, so I thought why not lmao.

    But anyway
    I'll keep this post updated with pictures and such as I elaborate the idea, but please, let me know what I should change/buff/nerf/add/remove from this concept!

    but
    a, uh
    cannoneer doesn't seem the most "magical and rustic" type of class
    but it's a cool idea

    Real comment: Why are people saying cannons are too futuristic? Cannons are already in-game via quests/the world. Also, I'd personally prefer the auto attack for cannons be a medium speed, low arch/medium range projectile textured like a cannonball, and have the casting system be the same as Archer's.

    I think most people are saying that it's too futuristic in the sense that it seems like a steampunk-type weapon, when the idea is that it's technology combined with arcane magic. Wait a sec... I think I inspired myself. Hold on

    I personally think your class suggestion needs more magical aspects and maybe change the weapon to a catapult since Wynn seems to be placed on a medieval atnosphere.

    I would try for a more... medivalish feel.

    Looks and sounds awesome, but the 1st spell should be an AoE spell (or at least made for crowd control), like spin attack, bash, heal (I guess it counts as AoE), and... arrow storm? Ok maybe not the last one but you get the point.
    How about making it launch a very slow projectile which would explode on contact and deal 150% damage to all mobs within a certain range? It would have a max range of about 5 metres if fired at an optimal angle. Think ender pearl but much slower and heavier.
    4th spell should be the ranged spell (war scream, smoke bomb, ice snake, .......ffs archer get your shit right) so either make its range 12 or so blocks (at an optimal angle) or replace it with what you have as the first spell now.
    You should also consider alternate builds which would focus on melee damage, so maybe make the melee attack a simple shot from the cannon, with a range similar to mage's, no gravity, and a speed equal to 360% walk speed while sprinting (so even the fastest players can't escape the attack). This would replace the current idea of using a spell as your primary attack, but people who do intelligence builds would still stick to spells as their primary form of attacking (like you intended).
