Hey guys! I'm ZapperFire, and I'm back with a brand new idea!

    The Beginning
A couple of days ago, I joined a raid party for Reincarnation. There were 5-7 of us, ranging from Lvls. 70-90. The fight took ~15 minutes, and we killed Bob twice, to make sure we all got the item. Afterwards, I asked myself, "What would I have done if no one could help me out?" That got me thinking. There are plenty of players who would prefer not to work with others, since they don't communicate well. There are other reasons, too, but my main point is that some players need help, but don't want help from other players. I played around with ideas for a bit, and this is what I came up with. Currently (From my knowledge), there are mercenaries in Almuj that, when you cough up some emeralds, will follow you around. There are several problems with the current mercenaries, the main ones being
    a) There is only one place/level area to use mercenaries.
    b) They easily get stuck on blocks, and soon get left behind.
    c) Besides mages who need firepower, there isn't a prompt to use them.
Based on these issues, I've created a solution: A revamped mercenary system.

    The Idea
In certain towns (Not all towns, but not just big ones either), there will be a building called a tavern. In the tavern, there are several NPCs, including the Barkeeper and the actual Mercenaries. Here is an example tavern.(NOTE: If added, taverns should be MUCH larger than the one below.)
    2016-07-04_13.26.53.jpg
    2016-07-04_13.27.04.jpg
    2016-07-04_13.27.01.jpg
The NPC behind the bar is the Barkeeper. When right-clicked, a GUI will pop up, like a merchant's. It looks like this:
    2016-07-04_13.32.58.jpg 2016-07-04_13.28.33.jpg

(Note: The Emeralds below each item represent the prices.)
These items will be explained in a moment. Onto the mercenaries: There are 6 in each tavern. This is because there is a mercenary for each skill, and then one all-rounder. A mercenary will have extra stats in said skill. In the pictures from the tavern, the white NPC is a "Swift Fighter", the Blacksmith NPC is a "Tough Mercenary", and the purple NPC is a "Wise Mage". These are Level 5. To use the mercenaries, you must be a higher level than them. As you travel to other towns, the level will increase, along with base stats. When a mercenary NPC is right-clicked, a GUI will pop up like this, asking if you want to hire a mercenary.
    2016-07-04_21.48.48.jpg
Left-click the green clay to hire and the red clay to cancel. Hover over the book to see stats and cost. Stats include health, regen, and any specialties (Spells maybe?). Once you hire a mercenary, you will recieve an item in your inventory labeled "_____ Lv.X". It looks like this:
    2016-07-04_22.03.02.jpg
Left-click this item, and the mercenary will spawn, similar to horses. Right-click to customize and view stats. When right-clicked, this GUI will pop up:
    2016-07-04_13.28.26.jpg
In this GUI, you can place a helmet, chestplate, and weapon in the corresponding slots. (Note: Mercenaries cannot use ANYTHING with a skill point req.) The reason you can only use a helmet and chestplate is because mercenaries aren't meant to be as tough as players, AKA to limit their health. Hover over the book to see the mercenary's current stats. Finally, the ender pearl is the "Power Slot". This is where the Barkeeper comes in. You can buy items from the Barkeeper to enhance the mercenary's abilities. From the Barkeeper's GUI, the Prismarine Shard gives +5% Melee Damage, the Nether Star (SP icon) gives +5% Health, and each powder gives +5% elemental damage and defense, based on the corresponding element.
In the mercenary spawn item name, you probably saw the (3/3), right? Basically, this is how many times you can summon it. The reason I did this is because I needed answers for questions like:
    a) Can I unsummon it?
    b) What happens when it dies?
    c) If I unsummon then resummon it, will it retain health?
The way this works is, when you summon it, the ender pearl is enchanted, meaning your mercenary is out. When you summon it, it will consume a use, changing it to 2/3. If you summon it, then it dies, a use is also consumed. So, you can summon the mercenary 3 times. A summon is used when it dies or is summoned. When the summoner item is out of uses, it disappears from your inventory, and the equipment falls from the fighter, like a mob drop. Just for reference, the mercenary has a wolf-like AI, following the player, and attacking anything that the player attacks or is attacked by. Also, take note that the player will not gain any EXP from the mobs their mercenaries kill.
That's it for specifics. Generally, the level of mercenaries would increase by 10 in each town, Ragni having Lv.5, Selchar having Lv.25, Cinfras having Lv.75, etc. all the way to 95. So in total, 10 towns will have taverns with mercenaries.

    The End
TL;DR- You can find mercenaries in taverns based on the town's level area. You can hire a mercenary, give it armor, weapons, and a buff, and you can summon it at will (3 times).

This concludes the Revamped Mercenary System. Some people might say there isn't a need for it, but I'm sure if it is added, then it will be important in future updates (soonTM).If there's something I missed, comment below. Don't forget to vote on the poll, and show your support. Hope you liked it!
    Yours Truly,

Thanks! Also, quick question: I've seen TL;DR before, and I get it's a sum-up, but what does it actually stand for?

This is actually improper grammar; both of those phrases are incomplete sentences.

there would need to be a lvl cap on them so that you couldnt get a lot from cinfras on your lvl 80+ class then use it on a lvl 20-30 class to easily beat bosses/grind.
kinda like the min lvl on health pots

Not to sound too harsh or too ignorant of what you said "Some people just don't want people's help", RPG was made for people to play together as a community. The quest made you have 3 people to open the bob's tomb in first place, it was made so that people make friends to support each other. RPG is based upon people working together as a team. I like the idea anyway, I am just don't think it would be a solution to anything. This would be a good edition for farming and just adventuring with some "body guards" if you could so call the mercenaries.

I understand what you're saying. What I'm saying is that some players don't communicate well, and therefore find it hard or just don't like working together. I have a friend IRL just like this.
    ________________________________
Solution: No mercenaries is Nemract. I said there are only 10 taverns, so there can't be one for every town. It'd be up to the GMs to decide where to place them (If this was added)

That was the whole design of RPG, to communicate with people. I understand your friend because I am very not sociable, I do not have many friends IRL. RPG forces people like me and your friend to communicate more, starting is always hard; once you do it the easier it gets. I would've never started to communicate if there was no one to passively force me.

This idea would be wonderful in combination with another Suggestion which is about the ability to sleep in bars to regain hearts faster and some Bonus damage for limited time

The reason desummoning consumes a usage is because if it didn't, then I'd have to answer: When I resummon it, will it's health be the same?
The Yes Cons) I'm not sure that health being retained is possible in coding. Even if it were, what if you're in danger, and pull out your mercenary, who you forgot has little to no health? He gets killed, and so do you before you have a chance to resummon him.
The No Cons) If the fighter doesn't retain health, it'd only make sense for it to heal, right? People could exploit this option, so that when the fighter is at low health, they resummon it at full health, and it doesn't cost a thing. the desummoning usage prevents this from being spammed.

Also, about the equipment: It will fall on the ground, like a mob drop. No other real option there. This will only happen after you're out of summons.

I really like this idea, it's certainly much better than the current Mercenary system!

It would be cool if it only took a use to spawn, not despawn, the enemy. Just my two cents :)
