World Artifacts ;o

Artifacts are a simple idea I made. They are rare items that have the name of a Set item. (Ex. Nether Artifact for Nether Armor, Jester Artifact) It is sorta like the rings and other accessories, but when you collect four of the same one, you can go to the Archaeologist (Located in Almuj and Aldorei (?) ONLY). They will take your artifacts and will give you a random piece of the Set itself. It can be one you have or one you don't.

The set item will automatically be identified when received from the Archaeologist. The identifications will be above average, making there be a reason to try and get artifacts. The artifacts will be a Set Item type. They are also used as an extra accessory.

The set items gained from artifacts are called "Ancient (Item)", but are still in the same set and will give set bonus when used with normal set items. (Ex. Ancient Adventurer Armor gives set bonus when used with Normal Adventurer Armor.

it would make a lot more sense if the archaeologist was in Almuj, not in just an important city.

But there is that Artefact merchant in the Cinfras airbase...

Unless it's somehow put through the ID system before reaching your inventory, yes. Or if they manage to randomize it somehow. In any case it would be best to just not ID it immediately.

As for the rest of the idea; I find it rather silly to have four luck-based items that you can trade in for bought items. I mean, why not just buy the Armour sets? They're not expensive, really.

Something similar could be cool, like trading in artifacts for an "Ancient" set or something similar, but not for pre-existing buyable sets.

By the way, this system seems very unreasonable.
You have a rare chance to get a relic, just to get a random piece of the set it comes with.
Basically pointless.

 

You can only buy the sets from players now, all set merchants were removed/aren't functioning.

Why? Because it was there.

How about, scrap everything, Artifacts will be almost as rare as mythics, and when you hold one, it gives you a special ability.
For example, Air Artifact would give you Speed when you hold it, Fire Artifact would give you Defense when you hold it, ect.
~just a stupid idea.

 

Okay so create an item that gives you godly powers of an element
Seems legit
