Website & Forums Thread Sharing/perms (31 Supporters)

Ok, I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Basically (If it's possible), please add a feature, when making a thread, where you can give other people privileges to edit the thread. Say if I was working with someone else on a great idea, but I make the thread, go offline for a long time, and they spot an error, or come up with something new. They can't edit it, and I wouldn't know until I got back online, when the thread may have taken a turn for the worse. Co-op threads would become an easier project. I've seen many great people in the forums, and I'm sure if even two of them worked on something together, then it'd be one of the best ideas yet.

-Add feature to give "XYZ" permission to edit thread
-Only the original poster can give permission (X gives perms to Y, but Y can't give perms)
-Those who were given perms are listed under Title
-Perms include: Anything the creator can do
-You can specify which perms
-Perms are chosen when creating the thread, and can be added/taken away by creator
-Will look similar to Tags, type name (@[insertname]) in box, then underneath that, choose what they can edit (thread, poll, title, etc.), and if they can delete the thread
-To prevent expolits & such, a log will be kept of who edits what
- You receive an alert when a thread is edited
- As creator, you can choose to give your position to someone else

The only problem I see with this, is that if an exploit is ever found, the forums will fall into anarchy.

 

Hopefully there won't be an exploit :P

It seems simple, really. Those tagged with @ can edit the thread. Not much more

 

I suggested this a while ago but the problem really came down to if people could delete the thread without the others permissions. Or they could edit it without the other person agreeing to the edit.

 

Answers:
a) Only the creator (Main person) can delete it.
b) They could, but if the creator didn't like it, he could take away their perms.
Not hard to solve, and seems pretty useful :D

 

But then for the first one what if the creator gave the other person perms cuz they were leaving the fours or something.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for the idea. I even suggested it myself. I'm just trying to look at it from every angle.

 

I see what you're saying now. I mentioned before about choosing what they do. Maybe it's better if you can allow them to delete it? Idk
