I feel as if this should also do something to mobs. Many people might not PVP and will think of this ID as a waste on their weapon.

 

Like I said, this is made for endgame, but there might be new bosses and mobs with thorns in the future.

Ooooooorrrr.... you could reset all the identifications on items getting this identification.
Sure, It would screw some people over, but its not like you're new to that kind of stuff.

 

In that case, cant it be on a more special endgame weapon? Such as dungeon drops or quest rewards.

 

The issue isn't the cactus builds are too powerful, it's just the bug that allows lifesteal to always activate on thorns/reflection that keeps them from dying. Once that's fixed, we won't even need this ID.

I don't think we could even do that. If we did, we'd have to take it up with Salted or Jumla...and if we were to introduce this identification, it'd be on a-lot-a-lot of items. That would be almost like turning everyone's LE unusable due to a new, un-convertable currency format.

 

Doesnt cactus work off of having more health and dealing your opponents damage back at them

 

Most thorns items have lower than normal health, but they're often stacked with high-health items or life steal to increase longevity. In the case of the life steal, it's working a bit too well thanks to a bug.

 

Will the bug ever get fixed?

What about pure thorns and reflection builds that work by having 100% thorns and reflection so when you attack them you die first

 

Why cant we just nerf cactus builds? ;-;

 

They still win at duels tho (that could be fixed by changing the order the damage happens)
