Texture Pack Optional

To my opinion, Make the Texture pack Optional (Dont get me wrong i think the Texture pack is really cool:
Maybe you think, Why?:

- Lagg: My FPS with the texture pack is way lower then without the texture pack.
- Attacking A Terrirory: When i attack a terrirory, Im dead before the texture pack is loaded.

New Idea?
I understand that stuff will be unable to understand. So i tough:
Small: A Small Texture pack, Lower quality, Higher Performance.
Medium: A Medium Texture pack, Medium Performance.
Big: A Big Texture pack, High quality, Lower Performance.
(Huge: A Huge Texture pack, Insane Quality, Lowest Performance.

I hope you like this idea, and i know it will be much work, but i know this will help a lot people (Inclusive me)

This would take ages to do.
Salted would never allow for this.
We want content, not texture pack stuff!

 

Well, atleast they could just make it optional, like no texture pack, it would be like much better :o

 

But then you have spears, bows, shears, and sticks that are "Blocks", random slab textures on blocks instead of the pretty neat pile of books texture, and other mishaps that are solved by the texture pack.
That would not be an option

 

Well.. how about make it 2 texture packs? like 1 small and 1 large...

Unfortunately the items that are used for weapons don't look like the old stick etc;
However what could happen is a "2D pack" be implemented for those running on less advanced / older machines.
(All the textures look similar, however its in 2D)

 

Its might be possible to make like, every item that is a bow/archer weapon , would be like the standard bow etc. (If you understand what i mean)

Ohw you want le, you can come and get it, im a bob reincarnation, pliz dont kill bob, he just wants to give you a hug ....

 

In other words, kill the Texture Team - with slabs and stairs; since that's what your weapons will be without a texture pack

 

An idea very similar to this has been posted before.

I rather play weird without lagg, then normal with lagg.

I know, but it seems like there has nothing been done without so why not try it again.

It would, just the second one would look like hell as it would most likely be 2D textures instead of 3d, but yes as you say one large and one small 3D one would not work terribly well
