World Add A Toggle Command To The Resource Pack Messages

Because some people think its "cool" to hate on ideas, especially when it doesnt benefit them specifically.

 

OK. I think you have missed my point, so let me try again. You started a thread that was asking about the same possible function, but for a non-officially Wynncraft reason. That non-official reason was the only objection that I saw in your thread. You wanted to turn off the warning so that you could use an altered Wynncraft resource pack, and there was, and maybe still is, little support for your idea because it involves a non-official resource pack that Wynncraft would have no control over. You could make one, and alter it for any purpose that you wanted. So could someone else, and they could do it in such a way that it would be harmful. No, I won't explain this to you, or to anyone else.

BlahBlah161616 is asking for a message switch so that he, and others, can use the OFFICIAL Wynncraft resource pack, that they are having to manually install, so that they can play Wynncraft with the resource pack.

Same functionality, totally different reasons. Get it? It's like asking if you can use a minimap. It's OK to use one for mapping purposes. It's NOT OK to use one for it's radar function. Would a message switch be OK? Yes, if you are using the official Wynncraft resource pack. NO, if you are using a modded resource pack, because no one wants to have to check every modded resource pack to see if anything has been changed that would cause a problem.

 

Okay first thing first, I don't want to cause a flame war and I am totally respectful to your opinions.

Your saying it's not okay to use custom resource packs, to this I will respond with :
-First, Who are you to be so sure about that ? That's the owners role to decide what can and can't be done on their server.
-Second, How is using a resource pack bad in any way ? It can't give any advantages to anyone, it's just like saying that BetterFolliage or Shaders should be forbidden.
-Third, you're saying "Because no one wants to have to check every modded resource pack to see if anything has been changed that would cause a problem." ; That's not the staff work to do so, but the work of the packs makers to be sure that their packs are working well, and even if they didn't do so, that's not a reason to forbid any packs.
-Fourth, I would quote myself from my thread "My point here isn't if people should use the "given" pack or not, my point here is that everyone should have the choice to either use the original pack or to use a custom one", everything is said, let people have choices ; If you're not interested in using a resource pack, then don't use one, but don't stop people from using them.

And again remember, I don't want to cause any flame war, this is a conversation between two civilized persons.

 

OK, there has been no official pronouncement to say that "outside" resource packs aren't allowed, however, there has been enough said that because the packs are highly customized that is highly recommended that players use them, or else the game won't make sense. I'm not making any pronouncements, I'm referring to what has already been said by the admins/owners concerning the official resource pack. There's no problem with using any resource pack, as long as it doesn't interfere with the customized models, and as long as it doesn't give anyone an unfair advantage. And if you do use one that interferes with the customized models, you do so at your own risk. If you think that mythic sword is a wooden fence, and toss it away, that's your fault. Again, no one is forbidding any one from using any resource pack that they want. At the same time, don't cry if you lose stuff because you thought a legendary piece of armor was a sapling or whatever. Further, any fool can change any sound file to anything that they want, including a screamer file. As far as I can tell, Wynncraft isn't going to take the time to check out any resource pack, other than their own, to say that it's safe to use; the time involved would grow exponentially as everyone and their brother would want to have an alternate resource pack certified. Wynncraft has every right to tell anyone that they are not using the official resource pack, and they have the right to ban anyone for not using it, too. As you said, it's up to the owners to make those decisions. Note that I'm not making any decisions, and I never have concerning this, as I'm only explaining what I've already read in other discussions and in the News forum.

The resource pack spam gets more annoying when you're trying to read Quest text in chat. So +1 Support

 

You can toggle chat or commands in vanilla minecraft options, just hide commands.

Yes I agree.
Every time I try to play Wynncraft without the rescource pack (Not sure why it doesn't work) I get spammed by that message which makes trade offers/bids and Quests hard to read.
