World Quest - Brotherly Love

This is a simple quest that I'm making. Maybe if you guys like it, I could apply for GM with it...?

Step One: Talk to Fezen at -1588 64 -5450

Pre-Quest
[1/2] Fezen: Hi, adventurer! I do not feel this is the right time, though.
[2/2] Fezen: Come back at level 55.

Quest Start:
[1/6] Fezen: I don't get it. It's been 4 years!
[2/6] Fezen: My brother has been mad at me ever since I
borrowed some emeralds from him and didn't pay back.
[3/6] Fezen: He's rich enough already! Can't he take 3 emerald blocks not paid back?
[4/6] Fezen: Adventurer, will you help me?
[5/6] Fezen: My brother lives along the coast of Selchar. That shouldn't be hard to find.
[6/6] Fezen: I can write down his coordinates in your quest book, if you need it.
[Quest Book Updated]

Fezen's standby dialogue:
[1/1] Fezen: Please go tell Hareld. If you've forgotten where he is, he's in your book.


Step Two: Talk to Hareld at 127 64 -3189

[1/1] Hareld: I have some business to attend to.

Quest Dialogue:

[1/5] Hareld: Listen, I don't need you humans running around while I'm-
[2/5] Hareld: Wait a minute, you're from my brother, aren't you?
[3/5] Hareld: He sends you stupid humans to me all the time.
[4/5] Hareld: If he really thinks he's being forgiven, tell him to forget it.
[5/5] Hareld: Unless he gives me the emeralds he owes, I'm not budging.
[Quest Book Updated]

Standby for Hareld:
[1/1] Hareld: Didn't I tell you to scram?
Step Three: Report back to Fezen

Quest Dialogue:

[1/8] Fezen: Did you meet my brother?
[2/8] Fezen: Yeah, I forgot to tell you that he can be rude.
[3/8] Fezen: Listen, I'm not a very wealthy guy, okay? I can't get his three emerald blocks.
[4/8] Fezen: I just wish my brother could see that...
[5/8] Fezen: We need to trick him!
[6/8] Fezen: You need to break into his house during the night and steal 3 emerald blocks!
[7/8] Fezen: Then we give him the 3 blocks back, and he'll never know!
[8/8] Fezen: Thankfully he doesn't count his emeralds... At least, I don't think so...

Step Four: Go back to Hareld's house

When you get nearby his house, this message pops up:
You're close enough. Now, you just wait until night time.
Once this message pops up, you're teleported to a Selchar covered in black wool, to simulate darkness or night. (There is secret lighting so it isn't completely dark. Probably just redstone torches.) There are NO NPCs. If you try to go to the docks of Selchar, or anywhere near the water, this message pops up:
You have not stolen the emeralds.

When you go into his house:
Hareld: ZZZZzzzzZZZ... emeralds... Zzzzzzz...

In his house, find his trapdoor that leads to his vault. When you enter, you will fight your way through the "Hareld's Bodyguards", until you get to the boss, which is called Hareld's Right Hand Man. He will drop 3 emerald blocks. (They are similar to the Liquid Emeralds used in Jungle Fever.)

Hareld's Bodyguard
800 health
100 damage

Hareld's Right Hand Man
1000 health
150 damage


Then, when you leave the house, it will say:
Great, now you need to give them back.

You are then teleported in front of Herald's house, in the real Selchar.

Step Five: Return the emeralds to Hareld

Quest Dialogue:

[1/9] Hareld: Someone stole three of my emerald blocks!
[2/9] Hareld: They even killed my best vault guard..!
[3/9] Hareld: Wait a minute, what are those in your pocket?
You show him the three emerald blocks.
[4/9] Hareld: YOU stole them!?
[5/9] Hareld: I should have known it was you...
[6/9] Hareld: Wait, so you stole those emerald blocks so that Fezen would be forgiven?
[7/9] Hareld: I was mad at him for three emerald blocks, when I have plenty of stacks of liquified emeralds...
[8/9] Hareld: Being rich was awful. I knew it. I just didn't want to give up my wealth.
[9/9] Hareld: Please, give these liquified emeralds to my brother, as an apology to him.

Standby:

[1/1] Hareld: Please give them to Fezen. I feel very, very bad.

Step Six: Give the Liquified Emerald to Fezen

End Quest Dialogue:

[1/5] Fezen: So, what did he say?
[2/5] Fezen: He's giving me his liquified emeralds!?
[3/5] Fezen: His apology is very accepted. I hope he does well.
[4/5] Fezen: Thank you, adventurer. You have opened up his eyes.
[5/5] Fezen: I hope you do well in your travels.
As he hands you your reward, you realize the power of brotherly love.
It can be rewarding, as you experience here.
[Quest Complete: Brotherly Love]
[+43000 Experience Points]
[+1 Liquified Emerald]




As you can see, the brotherly love between the two was so powerful, it took Hareld out of his trance from wealth.

It seems okay.
I don't really know how it could be improved, I just don't really like it.
Also isn't 10eb way too low for a quest like that? I would say at least an LE, since that's kind of what the quest is built around.
Such as the brother could give you a stack of LE, then you give it to the other guy. In return for the massive thank you for doing it for him, he gives you one LE.

You can't just make a quest that has you running from one city to another again and again!
It was Deltas and Troms for jungle fever, and that was bad enough.
Having one of the cities being Selchar is 10x worse!
It takes at least 5 minutes to take a boat there, and quests aren't really designed on the existence of scrolls.

 

but to what lengths will you go to save two brothers from their crisis and to learn the absolute importance of family

 

btw staff don't accept community suggested quests

 

so its a fetch quest, but you just go down a trap door?

it's not that they dont accept them its more like they would't seeing how most player made quests aren't high enough quality to be put in game

 

There may be a Bodyguard monster or two, that would make the quest harder.

my first idea was Cinfras, but that would be WORSE, since you have to go through a level 70 forest. Llevigar just doesn't work, it's used for too many things.

A city that's supposed to be big but nobody goes there because there are like 2 quests! YAY!

 

There's nothing wrong with Selchar. You travel in many quests.

 

But it's too far

 

And so is the Pigman Ravines and Detlas. You got there for Creeper Infiltration. See, you're supposed to travel.

Has anyone ever said these were good quests? And selchar is 10x farther than anywhere you have to go there. I'm not against traveling, I'm against having to go to the middle of the ocean multiple times just to talk to someone.

Whoa, whoa, wait.
Apparently, Fezen sends the protagonist to go steal some emeralds from his Brother [Out of love, of course] to get Herald to forgive him?
Maybe you should tweak the story plot?
Also "His apology is very accepted" should probably be changed to something else.
Other than that, great quest ;)

Oh yeah, add like a boss fight too. Since he's so rich he can probably hire Guards. I mean that'd be a good addition.

I like the suggestion!
Of course there could be some improvements, especially some related to the travel distances,
but with a few more dialog changes this would make a nice quest, in my opinion!

I like it. Only one thing that nags me. The quest text. You forgot to finish the numbering on the last dialogue. :p
It's a cool idea, though.
