Now, before you rant about how stupid you actually talking would be, actually read the thread.

I agree with you, having player dialogue would be stupid, but so is them miraculously reading your mind. I think that instead, it should have a thing saying like "You tell Dr. Potato about the potatoes." It would making things be a whole lot better! I'm pretty sure that this would be easy for the GMs to add to the game. (Please confirm.)

 

Isn't this already sort of in the game? I think a few Gavel quests already do this.

 

I believe the reasoning behind no to dialogue, yet yes to reading minds, is due to how "reading minds" allows them to portray you, the "main character" of the storyline, as with options, but only in a general manner; you tend to lean towards the right side, but no specific personality is given, allowing bad choices (An Iron Heart Part II) so that you seem more like a generic character that suits everyone, rather than someone with personality, attitude--a character with stuff already laid out. If a personality was already laid out, it would be difficult to change from heroic to evil, and vice-versa.

 

I don't think so, it is just people saying stuff like: "oh really, you think I look good", which is a way of THEM saying what you said, without the dialogue getting really confusing with a full conversation, also -1 supporter.

The only part where I know when the player speaks is in King's recruit when the king asks your name.

 

That's why I'm not making the player actually speak. Influencing personality is the opposite of what I want to do.

Plus, Aluxander or whatever asks your name in The Realm of Light quest.

 

Frostbitten is an exception. Aluxander did the "Wynn NPC Mind Reading" trick.

 

It's an ok idea but I don't really support it.
