World Interactive Boss Fights: Obstacles, Land Changes, And More! <{7+ Supporters}>

    Interactive Boss Fights!

    Let me get something straight:

    Boss fights are BORING in Wynncraft.
    It's just click, click, click, spell, click, spell, etc.

    The only boss that has any interactivity is Amadel, in which his arena and form changes as you fight him.

    So... yeah.

    Interactive Boss Fights! Yay!

    I'm going to include multiple ways boss fights will be interactive. There could be a weapon that may weaken the boss if used...
    There could be a minion arena every time a fraction of the health bar is gone...

    Minion Arenas

    Qira, Death, and many other bosses will have their minions attacking you as you fight the boss. But these bosses are only strong because there's so many minions attacking you. So, we keep the minions that help the boss, BUT, every once in a while, the boss will disappear and summon lots and lots of minions.

    If you have played the LEGO series of games, you know that in some boss fights, you have to kill a bunch of minions or do something in the arena to make the boss come down from a unreachable platform. (The Mr. Freeze boss fight in the first LEGO Batman game has this mechanic)

    Maybe the boss could disappear and summon a wave of monsters. You have to kill the wave in order to continue the fight. Maybe every 4th of the boss's health would do.

    Parkour Mechanic

    Wynncraft uses parkour everywhere. Dungeons, Hallowynn, Mt. Wynn, and the Angry Village.
    What if a boss goes to half health, it's arena would change, make it look like it was crumbling apart, and leave some platforms here and there? PARKOUR.

    What if the player falls? Well, this could be used in combination with the Minion Arena idea. If the player falls, they will have to fight a bunch of minions to get back to the boss.

    More Interactive Landscapes

    If you played WynnEx D, this should be self-explanatory, but i'm putting a few changes into it:

    Instead of an arena for each one, maybe build an arena as the fight goes on. You could start with a simple arena for the Corrupter of Worlds, but once he gets down to 3/4 of health, it could add growing corruption spikes, then make them grow more, then make it corrupt the room as the fight progresses.

    Okay, a few things.

    What if the boss falls into the pit? Entirely possible. Not only that but falling into a pit and having to find a button to get back up is just boring, same with fighting hordes of mobs (several bosses already kinda do this) And what about lag? How would this work, would command blocks be used?

    I understand, bosses need to be improved, but I feel that the way you suggested it is too complex and/or boring.

    The boss may be teleported back up?

    the falling into a pit is a thing to make players feel challenged to not fall in. Having a strong horde of monsters instead of instant death while falling helps make people not quit. It adds an extra layer of challenge.

    As for the lag, it is plugins and not command blocks, and it doesn't have to be complex. It just needs to have a change in the arena the makes it easier to see.

    So, we would have to craft about 60 new plugins for this is what you are telling me.

    No, this would only be for certain bosses.

    We already have around 30% of this, as we have the code for falling into a pit and fighting monsters already.

    Only certain bosses. Like CoW and Bob. Not dungeons and quest bosses. I really support this still.

    Yes, we have quest regions for players, and a number of general AI's for mobs, but neither of those work towards creating the fights you would need. There is no way to detect the health of a mob at the moment in terms of plugin-work, so a custom one would have to be created for that. We would need to create a custom region plugin that prevents mobs from entering areas, and I can not imagine that being easy or very smooth given how finicky player regions are.

    I am not saying this is impossible, but it certainly would not be nearly as easy as you make it out to be.
    It was meant to be a Creeper, I think.

    I don't know. I think it wouldn't for the parkour, because even though that sounds tedious and annoying, but it adds a new layer of challenge to the boss fights.

    The health regen would stop for the minion waves though.

    And change the mob's AI mid-fight?
