    How Identifications are Calculated
    A Guide Thread by @motoki1

    Hello, wynncrafters!
This thread explains about how "Identification's Range" is calculated.
Yes, it can be calculated and you can also calculate the probability of getting a specific ID.

    Table of Contents
    1. Base IDs
    2. Positive IDs
    3. Negative IDs
    4. Probabilities of getting a specific ID
    5. ID rating stars
    6. Summary (You should totally read this one)

Before we begin, I'll put a picture of an example weapon, so you can see what word written here corresponds in game.

    1. Base IDs
First, as most of you know, there is always a range that an Identifications (IDs) can get.
Before I begin this thread, you need to know what each IDs' range are based on.
The base value is called "Base ID".
We'll let the Base ID be "100%" value, and talk about the ranges of each IDs.
Currently, you can obtain the Base IDs only from Wynncraft API.
    https://api.wynncraft.com/public_api.php?action=itemDB&category=wand
(Replace the "wand" in the URL with other armor/accessory/weapon's names to see those data, like "helmet" or "spear".)
Also as a disclaimer, I cannot guarantee that API always shows correct numbers. When there's an update, IDs of some gears can be changed. So if they didn't update the API, you can only get wrong numbers from this website. Also, other websites that show the range of IDs (such as official Item Guide, and wynnapps) are all based on this API, so they can be wrong as well.
I know it's kinda hard to see (you can use Ctrl+F to search a text), but it is actually the only way to obtain accurate base values as of now.

    2. Positive IDs
I'll talk about the range of Positive IDs first. The range is actually different between Positive and Negative IDs.

    The range of Positive IDs
    30% ~ 130%

(If you get decimal, round it. ~.49 will round down, and ~0.5 will round up.)

    Average
    80%

The lowest value Positive ID can get is 30% of Base ID, and the highest is 130% of Base ID.
Therefore, we can know the average value of Positive ID is 80% of Base ID.

As an example, you want to know the range of XP Bonus ID of a helmet called Speaker. (Lv. 87 Rare)
From Wynncraft API, the Base ID of its XP Bonus is, 21.
The lowest XP Bonus is; 21 x 0.3 = 6.3 (Round it) so it is 6%.
Same for the highest; 21 x 1.3 = 27.3 (Round it) so it is 27%.

    3. Negative IDs
And here, I'll talk about the range of Negative IDs.

    The range of Negative IDs
    70% ~ 130%

(If you get decimal, round it.)

    Average
    100% (= Base ID)

The highest value Negative ID can get is 70% of Base ID, and the lowest is 130% of Base ID. (Because "Negative", think about it mathematically.)
And so, the average value of Negative is 100% of Base ID, which is same as the Base ID.

As an example, you want to know the range of Melee Damage ID of a chestplate called Aquarius. (Lv. 95 Legendary)
From Wynncraft API, the Base ID is, -15.
The highest Melee Damage is; -15 x 1.3 = -19.5 (Round it) so it is -20%.
Same for the lowest; -15 x 0.7 = -10.5% (Round it) so it is -11%.

    4. Probability of getting a specific ID
(I couldn't think of a better title pls)
When an ID of your gear is being decided, the system chooses an integer percentage number from the range of Positive/Negative IDs; 30~130% for Positive, 70~130% for Negative as I said.
Which means, you can calculate the probability of getting a specific ID in your gears.

    Let's continue with an example.
You want to know the probability of getting 27% XP Bonus in a helmet called Speaker. (Lv. 87 Rare)
First, the system chooses a random integer number between 30~130, so that is a total of 101 rolls.
Each roll has a chance of about 0.99%. (1/101)
If you want to get 27% XP Bonus in Speaker, you have to roll out from 127% to 130%. (Because only 127% to 130% rolls end up with 27%, which is the maximum ID possible.)
Therefore, the chance of getting 27% XP Bonus in Speaker is, about 3.96%. (4/101)

The same works for Negative ID as well, but don't forget the range differs from Positive ID.
There are 61 total rolls, and each roll has a chance of 1.67%. (1/60)

    5. ID rating stars
You may have seen some stars appearing next to your IDs sometimes.
I will call them "ID rating stars" here. If you don't know what I mean, please look at the picture I put on top of this thread.
(Actually, the star-looking or "x" things in game are asterisks.)
As I wrote in section 4, the system chooses an integer percentage number from the range of Positive/Negative IDs; 30~130% for Positive, 70~130% for Negative.
Which means, there are no IDs such as 125.6% of Base ID, or 74.3% of Base ID.
The stars show how good your IDs are. Also, these stars only appear next to Positive IDs. I don't know why.

    (No stars) = 30% ~ 100%
    * = 101% ~ 124%
    ** = 125% ~ 129%
    *** = 130% (Maximum)

Which looks like this in game.

Actually, the server admin, Salted has confirmed on this. You can confirm it from this post, but please do not reply to the thread. It is against the rule to reply to old threads.

    6. Summary
Base IDs can be found in the API.
We'll let Base IDs be "100%" value.
For Positive IDs, the range is:
    30% ~ 130%
    (Round decimals)
For Negative IDs, the range is:
    70% ~ 130%
    (Round decimals)

    When your Positive IDs are:
    Normal (30% ~ 100%) : No stars
    Good (101% ~ 124%) : *
    Great (125% ~ 129%) : **
    Perfect (130%) : ***
The ID rating stars appear next to your IDs.
    Looks like this in game.

If you're still too lazy to all of those, you can visit these websites for the range of every item.

Official Item Guide (Click the "Item Guide")

    Wynnapps by @! 3 ! (Syaoran3 or Scyu_)
^ Currently these two websites (Official Guide/Wynnapps) use the old rounding fact, so they may not be correct on most of the items.
    Wynndata by @dukioooo
    ^ Wynndata is working fine.

Here is the last of this thread!
Thank you so much for reading (scrolling) all down here, I'm sure it was a wall of texts.
Anyways, I hope this information is useful for you and I'm sure this helps you in your wynn-life!
    Have fun on wynncraft!

yea, that amazing tool is made by @Syaoran3, but it just shows min/max IDs, not base.
Useful for general use, I guess.
btw that is old address and new one is here:
    http://wynnapps.tk/
    idk why both still works

PS: ow. wait wat. Its calculation is actually broken, for example, speaker's max XP is 27% shown there, but actually 28% as I wrote in this thread. :o
