World Life Steal Not Working W/o Poison

A matter has come to my attention that I once thought of as preposterous, ridiculous, and so on, so forth. I've noticed that Life Steal is something incredible. Several of my favorite low-level Assassin Daggers have Life Steal on them. They work amazingly. I could solo level 50 enemies by myself, even though I was only in the 20s or 30s. I thought Life Steal was the greatest thing ever.

Then came level 53 KompriZe...

See, after I reached level 52 or 53 (most likely the latter) I managed to get my hands on a Reaper of Soul - which I will refer to as RoS on many occasions. I took up this dagger because it has some RIDICULOUS Life Steal stats. I've seen it range from 33/2 all the way to 141/2 (which is my current RoS.) However, thinking that this was stupidly OP, I waltzed myself across the Great Bridge, thinking I could meander through the Jungle and get to Troms.

How sadly mistaken I was...

I could never land a hit on any monsters because I had to consistently remain invisible, using up all my mana. I was lucky enough to have some good Mana Steal gear, so I could hit an enemy a few times and go back to being invisible. (Just saying: the amount of Jungle Fetishes needs to be reduced, or the speed of their attacks. It's kind of ridiculous.) Back when I would roam around Detlas, to Almuj, to Nemract, I could easily take on a crowd of enemies. My daggers were perfect, even though they had an extremely lower Life Steal value than my current RoS. After researching on the forums, I found a post made by somebody who's post I can't find. (SORRY) Anyway, the guy said basically this same thing. He was an Assassin up in the Mesa/Rymek area killing the wolves there. In a YouTube video he added, he took on 4 of the wolves without a Poison dagger. One out of every 20ish hits actually were the cause of Life Steal. (It is clear to see because his hearts turn white, and also his health increased much more dramatically compared to that of his Health Regen.)

I think that something needs to be done, that either:
A.) Poison makes little to no effect at all with Life Steal. - OK idea
B.) Life Steal gets a buff. - Good idea
C.) Life Steal gets a buff, and also reduces the amount Poison helps with. - Best Idea

Also, one more question. Should I add my own footage of this? I can whip something up pretty fast.

EDIT: Thanks to @Selvut283 I now know that Poison no longer activates Life Steal. Yay me.
The point still stands on Life Steal needing a higher chance to activate. My Assassin build relies on Life Steal - other than Agility and Intelligence, of course. c;

Well, it's hard when you first come in. Overwhelming. I'm fine with them now, I still don't like them though. :/

 

Poison stopped activating Life Steal awhile ago.

I was inactive for like 2 months, soo... The point about Life Steal needing a better buff remains. c:

Idk, make it activate more often.

That's what bugs me the most. It almost never activates.

 

Here's a little piece of information. Slower weapons have a higher chance to activate it and faster weapons have a lower chance to activate it.

 

get a super/very slow weapon, it procs more often on those items. OR get a cotv with nice thorns and ref and try to get to 100% on both

Life Steal activating constantly on Thorns/Reflection is not meant to happen, you realize.

 

But why is it there then? I know it takes a very long time to fix these types of things, but every cactus build utilizes this type of thing. They usually have a excellent life steal weapon and tons of thorns & reflection.

 

You essentially have answered your own question. It is not meant to be there, because it was not noticed that it would happen. It is the same situation as it was with Raw Spell Damage's place in the spell calculation formula, although in that case, fixing it was as simple as swapping a couple of numbers and it was more an oversight of scale than of a glitch. In this case, it is much more complicated, as I assume the coding for thorns/reflection is rather complex, and thusly weeding out this bug may be tricky.
