Hey Guys! I'm ZapperFire, and I present to you: Races, and its possibilities!

In RPGs, a common element is choosing a "race" that sets a path the player can follows. This can be implemented into Wynncraft. The race would be chosen alongside the class, and saved within the class. Choosing a race would give you extra skill points, elemental stats, a passive skill. Overall, I think it would add greatly to the diversity of Wynncraft. (YES, I know it's been suggested before, but all they said was "add trols an vampre so yo can run fast an shit". I've put actual thought and detail into mine, so don't assume this will be the same.) This race info would be displayed as a book in the compass menu, above the Intelligence Skill Book. Below, the extra stats for each race are listed. (Increases are in ( ) next to number increased)

    Orc
    Stone-Strong: +5 Strength (+2)

Forest Fighter: +5% Earth Damage & Defense (+5%)
Born To Fight: +5% Melee Damage (+3%)
    Simpleminded: -5 Intelligence (+2)

Crushing Rage: When below 15% (+2%) health, melee damage increases by 25% (+5%).

    Kitsune
    Wise & Skilled: +5 Dexterity (+2)
Thunder Deity: +5% Thunder Damage & Defense (+5%)
    Offerings: +5% Loot Bonus (+2%)
    Magic-Based: -5 Strength (+2)
Lightning Strike: When an enemy is hit, other enemies within 4 (+1 at 20,60, & 100) blocks take 50% (+5%) damage.

    Undine
    Wisdom: +5 Intelligence (+2)
Mana Pool: +5% Water Damage & Defense (+5%)

Magic Master: +5% Spell Damage (+3%)
Out Of Water: -5% Melee Damage (+2%)
Spirit Magic: When an enemy is killed, player has a 5% (+1%) chance to fully restore mana.

    Dragonborne
    Tough Scales:+5 Defense (+2)
Flaming Warrior: +5% Fire Damage & Defense (+5%)
    Fiery Breath: +5% Exploding (+2%)
Burning Heart: -5% Health Regen (+2%)
Draconic Claws: All attacks do 10% Fire Damage. (+8%)

    Angel
    Sacred Speed: +5 Agility (+2)
Sky Warrior: +5% Air Damage & Defense (+5%)
Light As Air: +5% Walk Speed (+3%)
Blades of Wind: -5 Defense (+2)
Pure Heart: When afflicted with a status effect (poison, life steal, etc.), there is a 30% (+10%) chance it will be oppressed (It will not happen).

    Human
Jack Of All Trades: +1 All Skills (+1)
    Warrior's Resolve: +5% Melee & Spell Damage (+3%)
Quick Learner: +5% XP Bonus (+2%)
    I'm Only Human: -5% Health (+2%)
Iron Will: When health is below 15% (+2%), all damage is negated by 50% (+4%)

    Upgrades
At every 20 levels, the race stats will receive an increase. You would get a notification in chat, along with the new quest, new spell/upgrade, and skill points:

    +2 Skill Points
    +New Quest: ABXY
    +Your Dragonborne abilities have improved!

This is an example of a level 21 Dragonborne's stats:

    Dragonborne
    Tough Scales: +7 Defense (+2)
Flaming Warrior: +10% Fire Damage & Defense (+5%)
    Fiery Breath: +7% Exploding (+2%)
Burning Heart: -3% Health Regen (+2%)
Draconic Claws: All attacks do 18% Fire Damage. (+8%)

The stats receive an interval increase, or the same amount each time. This means that at level 60, the debuff becomes a buff. A nice twist :3

    Lore
In the past, LOTS of people have had a problem with how races fit into the storyline. But, I've finally been able to create a solution. Here's an excerpt for the origin of the races:
"The Corruption spread panic and chaos throughout the provinces. It seemed as if no one could stop the creatures of darkness. Then, just as the world was about to fall apart, the King of Ragni gathered powerful warriors from every province. He created contracts and agreements with anyone who was willing to listen. Soon after, he had an army of warriors. Orcs smashed opponents into the ground. Elves and Kitsune vaporized their foes with powerful magic. Angels and Dragonbornes purged the skies of monstrosities. They bravely fought the corrupted and protected the inhabitants of the provinces, but at a cost. One group of these warriors, calling themselves 'The Divine Heroes', believed they could pay themselves for their efforts. They raided several towns, made taxes, stole precious goods, and whatever else they wanted for their sakes, until they were defeated and banished from the Provinces. Ever since, the villagers of Wynn and Gavel have harbored a deep hatred against the other races, in fear that they will come once again to take what is left."

The lore states the player is from Fruma, the Province of Humans. That doesn't mean there aren't other races there. You would be a cloaked figure that hid your identity on the ride. During the tutorial, you'll hear a voice from a cave along the path (Possible location: -1529 52 -1577). After wandering into the cave (Not a big one, just a turn or two), you meet a strange NPC named ???. If the player tries to move past the cave without talking to the NPC, they will be teleported to the doors in front of the caravan. A Guard will say in chat, "You, monster! Stay away from here, or I'll slice you to bits!" Here's ???'s dialogue:

??? (1/6): So, you're one of the new recruits, eh?
??? (2/7): I used to be an adventurer like you, but alas, I was banished from Wynn.
??? (3/7): People here just aren't akin to our folk. It's a shame.
??? (4/7): Fortunately, I'm seein' BIG things ahead of you.
??? (5/7): Here's the deal. You've got a destiny, far greater than mine. So, stand there for just a second.q

You hear him start muttering to himself as he places a hand on your chest. Suddenly, a brilliant flash of white emanates from it. As it fades away, you catch a smirk on his face.
??? (6/7): There we go. I put a strong enchantment on you that seals your identity. Basically, you look like a normal adventurer. Only a few immune to this magic can see the real you.
??? (7/7): The only thing I ask from you is that you go fulfill your destiny. Now, begin your quest!

The point of this is to keep the lore intact, prevent almost ALL of the quests from being rewritten, and to explain other things. It makes sense that no Dragonborne or Angels will fly around if the villagers of Wynn and Gavel nurtured a hatred for them.

If a player wanted to change their race, there could be an NPC such as "The Mage of Transformation" who can change your race for a price. This can be implemented as a quest similar to "Tower of Amnesia", where the player must collect certain items to gain the privilege to acquire Skill Reset Scrolls. In a similar manner, the player would work to find the wizard, who will help them at a price (2LE).

    Quest: The Tower Of Transforming
Talk to the Mage of Transformation at X Y Z. (He will be standing inside of a tower)

Prequest:You cannot enter the tower. When you try to, you will be sent back and hear:
Mage (1/1): Don't even think of approaching me until you're Level 37!

Note: The Tower is similar to the Tower Of Amnesia. On the Top Floor, there will be a Scroll Merchant selling a Scroll of Transformation. It costs 2 LE. You cannot go above the first floor until the quest is completed. If you try to, the Mage will say, "Hey! You're not allowed up there until I'm finished with you."
    During Quest
    Mage (1/7): Hello, dear adven-
    Mage (2/7): .......
Mage (3/7): I see. You're quite aways from home, aren't you?
Mage (4/7): Either way, I have a few chores you can help me with.
Mage (5/7): In return, I'll give you some emeralds, and a bit of magic.
Mage (6/7): First off, bring me
[10 Mashed Insects]. I need them for researching Scarabs.
Mage (7/7): No, off you go!

Note: If you talk to the Mage during the quest without completing the task, he will say "What are you doing? Go finish your job!" He will say this between all stages.
Bring the Mage 10 Mashed Insects

Mage (1/2): Excellent. These will do nicely.
    Mage (2/2): Now, I need
[5 Wolf Fangs]. They are infused with feral magic.
Bring the Mage 5 Wolf Fangs
Mage (1/6): Great! You have done fair work, adventurer.
Mage (2/6): Now, I ask one last thing of you.
Mage (3/6): One of my partners, named Rameg, has been studying ruins across Wynn and Gavel.
Mage (4/6): Unfortunately, he has not contacted me for several days.
Mage (5/6): I ask that you go find him, and make sure he's safe.
Mage (6/6): Last time he contacted me, he mentioned a cave near Rymek. Try searching there.

Search for Rameg in the caves near Rymek
Note: Pre-Quest, Rameg will say "Go away. I'm very busy." He is at/around 1020 45 -1250.

Rameg (1/7): What are you doing here? It's pretty dangerous, considering all the zombies.
Rameg (2/7): Oh? The Mage sent you? That explains it. I guess I forgot to check in.
Rameg (3/7): My time here has been valuable. I will leave here as soon as I finish my research.
Rameg (4/7): I'll let him know I'm ok, and that I met up with you.
Rameg (5/7): You can follow this cave to an old mining outpost near Detlas.
Rameg (6/7): Be wary, as even the ores in this cave have been corrupted.
Rameg (7/7): Now go, before he freaks out and comes over here. He'll get killed!
[After talking to him] Rameg (1/1): Have you told the Mage that I'm okay?

    Report back to the Mage
Mage (1/5): Did you find Rameg? Is he okay?
You give him the details of Rameg's situation.
Mage (2/5): I understand now. He probably made a breakthrough on his research.
Mage (3/5): Thank you for assisting me. Here are some payment for your trouble.
Mage (4/5): Also, come back if you require my magic.
Mage (5/5): I believe it will help you in your quest greatly.
[After quest] Mage (1/1): If you want to transform yourself, head upstairs.
Rewards: 1 LE, 25,000 XP, 1 Scroll of Transformation

When you right-click the Scroll of Transformation, a small menu will appear, similar to the class menu. Each race will have a corresponding symbol. When hovered over, they will display the stats the player will receive when chosen. To select a new race, left-click the race you choose. In chat, you'll receive a notification that reads,"You can sense new blood running in your veins. You've become a [New Race]!"

    Possibilities
With the Scrolls of Transformation, there's a possibility for race-specific areas, quests, weapons, and armor, above level 37. The Scrolls assure access to all race areas and gear, as long as the player has some cash. The quests, since there is a cost to the Scrolls to keep from spamming, would be less for XP and Emeralds, and more for storyline/special items.

    Name: Molten Heart
    Lvl Min: 59
    Race Req: Dragonborne
Background: A villager wants you to search for a rumored amulet in the center of a volcano where dragons nested, but only a
    Dragonborne can withstand the heat.
    Rewards:
    Rare Necklace-"Molten Pendant"
    Lvl Min: 59
    Quest Req: Molten Heart
    Race Req: Dragonborne

    +20% Melee Damage
    +15% Fire Defense
    +15% Fire Damage

    -15% Water Defense
    -15% Water Damage
    -150 Health

Lore: A pendant carved from a gem at the heart of a volcano. It's fiery aura is so intense, only those immune to flames can wear it.
    (Average stats are shown)

Have a quest idea? Comment below the name, level min, race, a small description, and any rewards (Less based on XP/cash, more on gear.)

    No quests yet...

This does have a drawback or two. Dialogue will have to be modified (Sorry, GMs). This is because of quest dialogue that refers to the player as a human. This would easily be switched to "an adventurer". The concept has the potential to become bigger. I'm welcome to suggestions from anyone, and I'd be happy to get some. I will try to answer as many replies as I can. Please read any replies I've already made, as they may discuss similar questions to yours. Comment any ideas, or just what you think about it! Thanks.

The human race is very overpowered as they get a collective 15 skill points compared to the other races 5. Reduce it to 1 or something.

    Also, you should add weaknesses

Yeah, I wasn't sure about it. 1 seems like too little, but 3 is too much. I'm also thinking about weaknesses, and I'm going to edit it when I have them all ready. Thanks for suggesting!

Yes, I understand that. To me it just seemed that 1 point doesn't make a difference, but I did a bit of looking, and I've decided that 1 each seems okay. Thanks for you thoughts!

With more detail (much more) This could be quite an interesting idea. I've seen this in many RPG games and it has always been somewhat of an extra customizing feature to further customize your battle style.
    -
If you added much more detail, this would be a great idea. I'd also suggest adding levels for your race. Example: Your race would reach level 2 EXP level 10 and and your race buffs would become more powerful.
    -
Another reason this would be good is that it could add liveliness to the world of Wynn. Certain races could be hated by many, and certain races could be the main race of a major city, etc etc.
    -
Long story short, other than some of the stats, I quite like this idea.

Great idea! I may not have mentioned in the initial post, but I'd like to think of my post as an outline or exoskeleton. I want people to suggest new things, so I can make as many updates as I need to. I already made 2 for Kimjdav's post, and Im glad to make more. I'll work on it, and renew as soon as I can. Thanks!

    Although I like the suggestion, one problem could be the storyline;
It is written with the player as a human, and a lot of things would've to be changed
in order for this suggestion to fit in; it'd require a huge amount of ideas in order to make
    this idea worth the work

Yes, currently it may not be worth it, but I plan on making constant changes to the concept. Someone suggested increasing the buffs at level intervals, which sounds GREAT to me. I hope plenty of others come and comment. Thank you for recognizing that.

Not really. If you read the excerpt in the post, I mentioned "warriors of all types protecting the provinces." I never specified where they came from, or that they were only on Wynn. And before you say, "Why would they go to Wynn?", I'd like to say there are plenty of reasons to cross the ocean, one being the sources of corruption on both provinces. Thanks for noticing, though!

Fair point, but another reason I don't really like the idea of races is because it doesn't give you as much freedom to change your build. As an example, I started as an Agi archer to survive, then reskilled into Int archer when I got a Mael and decent HP, and now I'm a Dex archer because I got Az. Unless there was a way to change race it could screw your build over.

If something like this was added, I think they would want to go above and beyond and make each race spawn in a different location (similar levels) or just go through a different tutorial on how you came to ragni. We already know the humans came from Fruma... So what next? Overall it seems like a good idea and pretty easy to implement.

But orcs? ORCS? Not to mention Dragonborne have yet to exist in Wynn, a rewriting of so many different quests MULTIPLE TIMES, and so on

EDIT: you'd also need to make the game remember what race you were. A good suggestion in concept, but not in implementation

Thank you for providing those links. I had combed through the forums, but I didn't find anyone talking about races. Also, about Dragonborne. Let me remind you Gavel didn't exist before, and here it is. As far as we know, the next province is a dragon's nest. The game remembers your class and skill point usage, so why not race? About Orcs; I am aware Orcs appear as an enemy in Gavel. To adapt to this:

"Desperately seeking help, the King signed a treaty with the Barik Clan, a clan of Orcs that weren't as hostile as the others."

Something along those lines can fit. My point is, it's not impossible. Also, about quests. Many ideas in the forums require LOTS of rewriting. Over 50 quests were made, along with a brand new item system, in the last update. This would open the path for more quests as well. Maybe even race-specific ones. Thanks for commenting!

Pretty cool of an idea. Though Wynncraft has majorly large amounts of customization, but this would take it above and beyond. Though, I see one major flaw. We all know of how darn long it took the team to get Gavel out, and this seems like a pretty big expansion as well, meaning that's even more waiting and anticipation for all of us. Amazing idea though.
