Website & Forums 'finish Later' Section (11 Supporters)

hey! This is my idea: I am getting slightly annoyed that I have to open out my word document, copy and paste whatever I am posting, and then save the word document. and then later when I want to finish it later, I have to copy and paste whatever I wrote down in the word document, and then Ctrl+V it back into a thread that I am making, so this is what I thought that you (website team) could do to help this: you could make a folder that is accessible here:

it would say 'make a thread for later'
or a second possibility, is this:

see that red box? that is where a button called 'save for later' will be, so you just click that and your thread will be saved in a file, and you can just click on a arrow beside that button, and it will show names of those saved threads that you made, click on the name you want, and it will immediately put everything you made into the empty thread that you have opened.

I believe that you can "save" a draft by clicking this one thing while creating a thread (it looks like a clipboard or a folder). Not sure how effective it is. For now, isn't it just still easier to work on the whole thing a word document and THEN paste it in?

 

I guess, but it will be easier once this is made.

Oh yeah, another point is that when you save the threads, when you save it, next time you make a thread in the same section, that will be what there is instead of a blank 'create thread section' so when you save it, you can't make another thread in-between the time you save the thread, and finish that thread.

 

It only saves it for about 24 hours, after that it gets deleted, unless you save it again

 

Well I personally just write everything I need to write out first in a private forums convo then when I finish the entire thing I just copy paste it all into a public thread

Same, I got a convo with an inactive member. I use that as a private section

 

Can this PLEASE be added into the forums, I really could use it

 

From my (admittedly small) experience in making forum threads, if you start and then hit "save" it will still be there if you close out and later hit "Create a Thread" again.
I could be wrong.

 

I made a thread about this several months ago, and the former web Dev didn't want it added, so I'm assuming our Devs will be sticking to that decision.

 

CRAP, I waited to long to bump this thread, please don't close this, please.

 

I mean... You just necro'd it, and there's already multiple solutions to your problem.
