Hey guys! I've been working on my Mage class for a long time and I kinda forgot what it was like being a lower class, especially with many more people on because of the recent gavel update. A few days ago I decided to begin an Archer class because farming on my Mage was getting boring.

This is when I came across the people who will take all the mobs you are rounding up. Now this had of course happened as a Mage, especially in places like the Temple of Legends where many people go to farm, but the thing is that there was a dramatic increase in the number of people who did this when I began my Archer class. I mean there were something like 5 people a day. I personally don't think it's that big of an issue, but its really upsetting when you spent a few minutes rounding up 20 to 30 mobs, and someone comes by and kills all of them at the last 30 seconds of a DXP Bomb.

I think that a new rule should be added enforcing this kind of behavior. I don't think that it should be strictly dealt with as sometimes people kill the mobs because they think that you need help, but I think we need to stop people from doing this kind of thing on purpose.

    Tell me your thoughts below!

You can't really enforce any PVE rules, especially the grinding. #Free4all

Things like fly hacking can be tracked due to plugins, yes. But actions like these don't have any way of sending in an alert to the staff that people are doing this. Everyone experienced this before, and its extremely disappointing. But too bad, theres no way for moderators to catch these people in any way.

They added shared xp for this reason exactly. Dont round up your mobs, hit them all and cause enough damage so that if someone kill steals from you you would at least get the shared xp.

yeah I see your point, but at least making a rule saying that it's not acceptable and if caught will be punishable would stop many people from doing it I would imagine.

I don't know of many games, but the ones that I do know of wouldn't punish players for taking mobs/npcs away from another player for their own gain.

You just have to be quicker! Or hop worlds, something like that.

It has happened to the best of us, often on other games as well. (cough cough, RuneScape)

back when I was at the 60-68 grind and someone would kill steal from me I would ask him to stop and if he wont listen I just ks'd him back until he raged and left.

    No.

You can't make kill stealing against the rules. Its also kinda unfair to punish those who kill steal. Grinding works like this: "If you can't hold 1 place go to another". What I mean is if you can't handle these kind of people, just move away from them and grind somewhere else. Its much more fair than reporting them.

So which do you think is better?

I see your point, but I have to disagree. I think that it is fair to punish people who kill steal, and that people should be able to farm without worrying that some jerk is gonna come by and kill all the mobs they've been rounding up for the past few minutes. Nonetheless I respect your opinion.

I'm just gonna address the elephant in the room here.

This would be nearly impossible to police.

What's to stop me from saying "Player B was Kill Stealing me", when they really aren't? It's just one more thing mods would have to worry about.

This really just feels like you are trying to stop one thing you felt was wrong when it happened to you.

I can garuntee that you have stolen someone's kill, on purpose or on accident. Under your rules, either are punishable.

Also, in order to defend that a player was not trying to steal kills, they would essentially have to be recording 24/7.

Now as an American who holds the unpopular opinion of loving the Patriot Act, (I'm a lefty. I swear.) I am fine if somebody is checking up on what I do, because I have nothing to hide, however, this kind of rule would really just have to make mods sit in Vanish Mode, at farming sights, banning people. That's just annoying.

It's not fair to punish people for grinding, so it's not fair to punish people for kill-stealing. There's several easy options to avoid KSers, so no.
