*a summary of this suggestion is that I think that one-sentence threads that ask just a question should be classified as shitposts and locked.

    Hello Wynncraftians!

So recently the forums have been cluttered with useless threads such as "What's Your Favorite NPC In Wynncraft?", or "Where Is Your Favorite Place In Maro Peaks?". I believe thread such as these should be classified as shitposts and locked. Threads are meant to give information and contribute to the community. According to @LoveLusting, (https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/how-to-make-a-good-thread.108608/) for a thread to be classified as "good", it must utilize these four tips:

    ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
    1. Useful and Usable

Good content is content that is both useful and usable. Your information should be something that's either new, important, or significant to the reader. If you want to post your opinion on how you don't like the stats on this one dagger, go find a new one, because odds are no one cares. If you want to post about your experience on finding a typo in a quest, you might find it funny, but still, odds are no one cares. That's the reality of things. So before you even start making your post, ask yourself this: Does the forum community need this post?

    2. Keep it short
Try to keep your information as short as possible but without losing any detail. Why? Because, odds are again that no one cares enough to read through all of your text, and even if they do care, walls of text are usually intimidating. Don't scare away your readers. Say what needs to be said, no more, no less, no exceptions.

    3. Create a Hierarchy of Information
If your post is going to be long, you need to create a visual hierarchy of information. Make sure your most important information is visible at first glance. Use headers to organize your points; bold or italicize unique or important terms. Making a list, like with what I've done on this thread, is also extremely effective—you can literally get a good idea of what this thread is about just by reading my headers.

    4. Make sure it's easy on the eyes
Please stop writing in gigantic font. Stop bolding everything. Stop using an absurd amount of colours. If anything, it only makes your post look childish, unprofessional, hard-to-read, and quite frankly, unworthy of being read. My advice is to keep it simple and standard. Never should you use more than two fonts: one for your regular text, one for the headers. If you want to use colours, stick to using 1 or 2 colours only.

    –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

A thread that which the goal is only to farm comments and likes is a bad thread. Clearly a low quality and effortless thread such as this:
Title: What Is The Best Name You Have Ever Seen In Wynncraft

"i dont rly know probaly bob i saw him a few months ago\

WHY DO I END UP CREATING POPULAR THREADS AND NO ONE GIVES ME A SINGLE LIKE WHYYYY its like the fourms hate me"

cannot be allowed to exist. There are far too many shitposts such as these that are allowed to exist, wrongly. Please, help the forums become a greater place.

Well, let's just hope this doesn't go the opposite way; where long, well thought-out threads become shitposts, and short, useless threads become honoured as godlike threads.

And thus, the end of an era was ushered in. Little did they know, this 'bright new future' would be their end.

Oh and also, if you want to stop shitposting, unbiased polls would help

This post was a shitpost. I know this involves me but people think differently. People think that this idea would be cool, but for other people it's not. That's why there is the forums, to see if people love the suggestion, if not a lot of people like it, the forum post can be deleted, and sometimes, you don't even know if it's a shit post. I'm 13 and a half, you can call me a kid, but this forums should be free of any post, that's why there's others to support your idea or decline it.

    Please support your argument.
It reminds the community on how threads should be in the forums
Specifically the General Suggestion threads, and how people should ALWAYS include a lot of detail in their threads

I can't find your point either. Perhaps you might want to point out to the rest of the community what it is.

Making a suggestion post with just a bunch of names doesn't seem to have a lot of detail don't you think? Especially when they say that the staff should come up with the details about it. The staff don't have a lot of free time to come up with the fine details that the thread creator should have already created :/

Just an example, there was a suggestion that simply said
    "Reduce Lag"

That's basically a suggestion without any detail

How is it "biased" to try and stop random trolls who don't have any reason to clicking "no". If you really have a good reason why you don't want this in game, then tell me. We can work it out.

(Unless you were referring to iEddie's "Set Armor" poll, then yeah. Totally agree).

oh yeah, that GENIUS suggestion xD
The trolls will always be there, but I've honestly seen very little of 'em. It seems more biased to make a suggestion with little details and refuse to listen to other people's suggestions, then straight up make it so you can't tell them it's not a good suggestion or that it needs detail. (ahem iEddie)

    1) I am the troll. I have plans for establishing an underground gnome trafficking network, and have a monopoly on all under-bridge-private-property in the Midwest.
    2) Yeah I was taking a shot at a certain someone.

And you of course. Don't think you're special.

This sounds like a good idea on paper, but I'm not sure how it would work in practice. What criteria classify a shitpost? Those criteria can change from person to person, from mod to mod. I think it'd end up being pretty biased and people might end up having their attempt at a legitimate thread shut down.
Also, depending on how heavily it'd be enforced, there's a possibility of making the forums too strict. Don't get me wrong, I agree that those kinds of threads can be annoying- but there's a number of factors that need to be considered.
One more thing- some of these kinds of threads can come from newer people who are unsure how to integrate themselves into the community. When I first joined I was shy and just wanted to talk to people about simple things like that- some others might be trying to do that too, and being shut down might want them want to not be a part of the community.
Tl;dr this could be a good base for an idea but it's my opinion that it'd need more work and heavy thought
