Website & Forums Likes Given Trophies

I am so sorry if this already a thing I don't know about.
PLEASE DON'T HURT ME.

So I was just on the forums, when I realized that I don't see a whole lot of likes given, might be I just missed it or something, but I feel like there should be a trophy for giving out likes, and yes I know there is a possible case someone just gives likes to EVERYTHING just to get it, but maybe it could be like.

"You can like as much as you want but only 10 likes a day will count towards trophy."

Honestly I don't know, I'm not the best with ideas either, but just thought something like this would be a nice idea.

 

Trophies rewarded for giving out likes would only encourage like bombing.

 

Well, there are already trophies for posting, and wouldn't that also encourage post-spamming?

 

Yeah I was kinda thinking about that, but maybe there could be like some limitation..or...idk, just thought it would be nice, but I get your points.

 

It would, but a 10-character limit actually does a surprising amount to discourage spamming.

Well, the thread starter also mentioned a "only 10 likes per day" count limit

 

A like limit would be annoying. I tend to like posts a lot and I feel like a limit would be annoying people who like sensibly.

 

Not a limit in total; A limit of the likes which counts towards the trophy / day

 

Feels like it'd move at too slow of a pace then.

I feel like it's really weird to have a trophy just to reward you for pressing a button multiple times.

 

I think it feels weird to have a trophy just to reward you for typing letters multiple times / even one for doing nothing :P

 

Except typing letters isn't as random as you make it sound. You actually have to have conversations. And, for those who don't and just spam, it's really easy to deal with.

 

Likes should also just be given to people who deserve it. It just happens that in this (and in general; every) community likes are given out of pity/because of friends/tl;dr; because of reasons they shouldn't be given, which makes such trophies seem like bad ideas.
But I get your point, it might not be that good of an idea

 

Alright well after reading through this, I understand that the idea isn't great, but I don't regret letting it out there, thanks for responding.
