Decay Rises part 1

Hello guys, i'm felipeargoll and today i'm here to show a new quest idea involving the decay. This quest that has cutcenes, custom mobs and itens, is based in players lv. 80 - 85, in my opinion.
First of all: sorry for bad english, it's verry hard to convert portuguese to english :P

Key:

Red - My comentaries and what you have to do;
Dark blue - Links
Purple - Quest book;
Light blue- Item and mobs
Gray - Speaks stage and quest events, like: "you hear someone whispering";
Dark green - Name of the characters;
Light green - Speaks;

[Quest Book: Find Galadriel in Aldorei City, at HERE]

If you are low level:

[1/2] Galadriel: You human know about the decay?
[2/2] Galadriel: Excellent! But you are to low level, come back when level (?)

When you come at correct level:

[1/6] Galadriel: Oh, finally a Wynn soldier that can help me.
[2/6] Galadriel: Look, I would not want to bother you, but it is a serious matter.
[3/6] Galadriel: You know about the decay, right?
[4/6] Galadriel: It is expanding very quicly, just today we find 3 decay eggs around Cinfras, Thanos and Aldorei.
[5/6] Galadriel: We sent several search teams to destroy the eggs, but none of those teams returned.
[6/6] Galadriel: If you could help us with the seeds all Gavel would greatly appreciate it

After quest:

[1/1] Galadriel: Hurry! The supposed locations of the eggs are marked in your book.

[Quest Started: Decay rises part 1]
[Quest Book: Destroy the eggs HERE (There will be a little hole inside of the house), HERE (In a cave at the wall) and HERE (there will be a hidden passage under the tree)]

The eggs will drop "Y egg", "W egg" and "W egg" respectively (please, help me to nominate the eggs). The eggs will be protected by Decay monsters:
-level:85.
-health:2,000.
-speed: same to a player running.
-neutral damage: 300.
-earth damage:250.
-defense: 75% of defense to air, water and earth; 25% of defense to thunder, fire and neutral.

[Quest Book: Return to Galadriel]

[1/5] Galadriel: You came back! And alive, for what seems to me!
[2/5] Galadriel: Give-me the eggs, please
Galadriel throws the eggs in a cauldron.
[3/5] Galadriel: TELEMO NA EKAM I SGGE ESEHT HTIW!
The water in the cauldron starts to boil.
[4/5] Galadriel: Come here, don't worry.
[5/5] Galadriel: This cauldron shows the future, but the future can only be show to who know how to change it.
Your mind seems to be about to explode while you look at the cauldron and put your head in the water

[Cutcene Time]

In this moment the player is teleported to a cutcene that shows three Gavel cities losing to the decay: Llevigar, Cinfras and Eltom.
Llevigar - there is an egg in the center of the city, there are purple tentacles coming out of it. The stone villager statue is falling and being destroyed;
Eltom - the player screen spin slowly, showing an ugly nature, with dry trees and crumbling mountains;
Cinfras - A worm/larva emerges from the ground, bursting the floor of the Guild Hall;

After the cutcene the player will appear in the apocalyptic Cinfras of the cutcene.

If you try to enter te guild hall it will says:
It was here that I saw the giant larva, it does not seem to be a good idea to enter

[1/5] ???: No, please no... don't kill me...
[2/5] ???: You will not kill me? Oh god , thanks!
[3/5] ???: My name is Riang - I know, it's a weird name. Could you help me?
[4/5] Riang: I need of a healing potion for my leggs, they are severely hurts.
[5/5] Riang: There is some other survivors at the guild hall, maybe they have something for me

After quest:

[1/1] Riang: My leggs are...
[Quest Book: Speak to the magical doctor at the Guild Hall]

[1/3] Magical doctor: Hello, what do you need?
[2/3] Magical doctor: A healing potion for leggs... Here is it!
[3/3] Magical doctor: You can have it for free in these dark times.

The doctor will gives a Healing potion for leggs (Item: minecraft potion of strength / Status: quest item, untradable)

After quest:

[1/1] Magical doctor: Sorry, i'm busy

[Quest Book: Return to Riang]

[1/3] Riang: Thank you, here you are again!
Riang puts the red liquid on his legs
[2/3] Riang: It's verry better.
[3/3] Riang: Oh, and check the region around Eltom, the giant larva was toward it. Maybe it lives over there.

The player will gets slowness 4 and nausea
You feel someone pulling you up by your back

The player appear beside Galadriel

[1/2] Galadriel: You don't have to explain, I already know what happened.
[2/2] Galadriel: Go now looking for that larva around Eltom!

After quest:

[1/1] Galadriel: Be quick! We can't wait for the next attack of the decay.

[Quest Book: Find and enter the larva cave near Eltom HERE]

There will be a giant larva suspended holding a stalactite in the roof and a wither skeleton in front of its head. Maybe Wynncraft team could do a mouth that open and close on the larva or something like that.

[1/4] Giant larva: You have already spread the seeds?
[2/4] Decay guard: Yes master, all it's done.
[3/4] Giant larva: Are you sure? Because I'm feeling human smell in my home. Show up, Wynn warrior!
[4/4] Decay guard: I will defeat him, master

[Quest Book: Defeat the decay guard and take his pancreas - hearts are out of fashion huehue]

Decay Guardian:
-level: 100.
-health: 100,000.
-speed: a quarter of player speed.
-neutral damage that he gives: 1.000 - 1.500
-special attack: fire ball (2.000 of neutral damage).
-defence: 100% of defense to air, water and earth; 0% of defense to thunder and fire; 25% of neutral defense.
-drop: Deacay guard pancreas (Item: minecraft magenta dye / Status: quest item, untradable)

When the player enter in a teleportation hole

[1/1] Giant larva: Come back here, human *Roaaarg*

When you gives the pancreas to Galadriel:

[1/5] Galadriel: Hello again, found something new?
[2/5] Galadriel: What is this? The pancreas of a decay guard? This is incredible!
[3/5] Galadriel: Now we will can reveal all the decay mysteries and discover how to defeat it effectively.
[4/5] Galadriel: Thanks to you... and to this fabulous pancreas!
[5/5] Galadriel: I will call you when discover more about this pancreas. Take this as reward for your help:

[Quest Completed: Decay Rises part 1]
Rewards:
5,500 xp points
8192 emeralds
Pancreatic juice of the Decay guard (Item: minecraft poison potion / Status: quest item, untradable)

After quest (Galadriel):

[1/1] Galadriel: A drop of this, two teaspoons of that...
[2/2] Galadriel: Almost ending the spell

After quest (Larva cave):

[1/1] Giant larva: You here again?! (The player will be teleported to the Decay guard battle again)

1. Galadriel is straight out of LOTR, man.
2. I gotta agree with Ed here, 500k is too much for a level 80 boss.
3. @iEddie A bit off with the XP by the way, more like 600,000.
4. Boss damage for a Level 85 boss is around 1,500 max.

Other than those, I actually really like this quest! Loved that "WITH THESE EGGS I MAKE AN OMELET" thing.

Like this idea. But I don't get the part right after you beat the Decay Guard, the Giant Larva says he will destroy you and... Poof, back at Galadriel?
And I'm not sure about the decay seeds, seems a little weird to me.

And did you really have to make the one other person a Grian whatever-you-call-it-again? Raing? -_-

 

Pancreas? Why?

 

The part where you have to escape the cave is basically just go into a teleportation hole. I'm not creativity to make names :P

First of all, if you want to use Galadriel follow the little rule in wynncraft so her name would be Guladriel(like Bulbo,Frudo; gundalf; Lugolas etc) also 5,500xp? The only way anyone would even do the quest for xp would be that it was 500k-800k. Otherwise its quite nice.

A level 80-85 quest gives 400K-500K xp...

 

Hmm, was this perhaps inspired by "The Devil's Due?" The beginning with the eggs reminds me off it. I think this is a great quest, nice to see people putting effort into mobs and story! Just one thing: maybe have "1 vote only" for the poll, otherwise it could be abused.

 

One problem, this kinda seems like a main storyline quest, and I don't think they're about to let a fan decide some events in the storyline.
Love the quest tho.

 

Mind if I attempt to provide some constructive criticism?

The main problem is that most of the time spent on this quest is literally just travelling around and destroying eggs. You wind up travelling hundreds (maybe thousands) of blocks to underlevelled areas where nothing's a challenge just to go in, watch a cutscene, destroy and egg, and do some more travelling. This is one thing that we tried to avoid with Gavel, constant travelling between areas. Instead, such a quest should be focused on an area where the decay is a problem. The decay shouldn't just suddenly "pop up" everywhere. It makes sense story-wise, and reduces travelling time tremendously since it'd only be in the dark forest areas. Even then, going around and destroying eggs isn't much of a quest. A little bit of parkour or a puzzle can do WONDERS for making a quest feel interesting. It helps break up the pace and add variety, you know?

Another way to add variety is to add some new interesting locations. A spooky cave, or an ancient temple (just examples here) make the player feel adventurous, like they've found some really cool new place, even if they haven't actually travelled far. New locations always feel more interesting than revisiting old ones. And then finally, there's one more thing I'd like to say: Just something to keep in mind for future quests, not every quest has to on such a large scale. A lot of quest suggestions are about "defeat the big bad corruption/decay monster, save the world!" Try something more unique. The quest doesn't have to be about stopping the issue entirely, but it can still be related to the issue. Quests like Memory Paranoia and the Aldorei's Secret storyline tie in with the decay without directly involving you FIGHTING it.
