Nice Config, Mind Making It Actually Work Though?

    It's not as simple as you might think with Jumcode, and the current developments and plans. Have we attempted to get more Devs... hmmm we have, they leave though. Finding people to code a game within a game isn't easy work for them, they also have to find people they trust, so they won't just go around hiring people that play the game to actually code it, there is no previous relationship established with them. I get what you are saying, but the fixes that you want and the design that Salted has or made mistakes in won't be "fixed" just like that. While Jumla just does the "simple" coding of Wynncraft, it is still hard work for him that requires a whole lot of patience to actually work around. So if you really truly absolutely have an issue with the game and how it is then I suggest starting a conversation with Salted so you can try to get some results instead of complaining about it to people who find that the issue isn't as big as you make it to be.

    Edit: The builds and the quests are separate from the actual mechanics, they are done by different people and directed by different people. Jumla is the only one that actually implements the mechanics that Salted requests of him. The classes have also had issues since Gavel's release, and everything still needs to get re-balance and redone.

    Remember, the spell damage is directly based off of weapon damage. Low weapon damage means low spell damage. Meteor is also the only spell that has a significant time between when it was cast and when it does damage, meaning it literally can't be spammed. I don't think meteor is the problem with Mage, although it could use small nerf to damage.

    I can only assume that what he is implementing is similar to the example I used earlier, if not then it would mean that it is overly complex a system for casting spells and creating them. The load could be intensely lightened if an easier method were used. Not to mention the click spell casting system is very glitchy and messy on any server that uses them, binding usually works better. I'm, again, trying to compile what should change. Not complaining to a bunch of people that don't think it's a big deal. Would it be illogical to not have just one man, the owner no less, deciding absolutely everything that might happen in terms of gameplay mechanics? Allowing it to be done that way either ensures that things will remain very repetitive, or that the ideas will be either really bad or really good depending on the person making them.

    I think he uses bukkit. And it's usually better NOT to compile all of your ideas into one thread, as it doesn't really allow a focus on one topic. Try making threads on the smaller pieces first, and see how people like that, because a lot of people might agree on one thing in your thread, but disagree with the rest, and would then disprove of this thread. And change the thread title, it looks like you're trying to shitpost on the mods

    My tone is that it's annoying that it's taken so long for minute balancing efforts to be performed. As for the qualification, although it is of no relevance anyways, I've worked on balancing a system even more difficult to balance than this, with 5 classes and ranging from 15 to 20 'spells' per class, all of them conditional. I know how to balance minecraft 'spells', and I know how to work with game mechanics. I'm offering my opinion, if you disagree, then explain why; rather than telling me I have a bad tone and that I'm unqualified. You don't know my experience, so it's more wise not to imply that I don't actually have any. You can argue that I don't know the most about wynn, and sure, thats what I'm trying to fix. A content team isn't made for balancing, and furthermore it is impossible to balance. Balancing a game is physically impossible, balancing is a constant process that has to continually change. And that is a big issue, it needs to constantly be tweaked to try and fine little niches that work until they are found to be faulty, the changes here took much longer than it should have, and with little fruit for the effort. So basically, it needs to be tweaked more, and more often, this extremely long time period doesn't cut it. On your other statement, balancing isn't an extremely hard thing to do, it's actually quite easy. It just takes a long time to find a proper balance that will work for as long as possible. Changing dmg amounts is not a hard thing to do, especially when all you have to work on is 4 classes with 4 spells each. I can at the very least see that it is unbalanced now. Give me input so that I can properly place what should be done, either way my tone will remain exactly the same as it's how I handle things, again of no relevance to the points made

    Oh dear... You've made quite the mess here, sis. But she does make some good points. Especially with Assassin and Mage.

    Assassin is still nowhere near worth using due to its lacklauster damage output and general nerfs over the course of the Gavel updates.

    I initially thought Mage was supposed to be more of a support class with a healing spell, a slowing spell, and a way to get to allies quickly and effectively. But then you go and give it a prefectly spammable spell with insane amounts of damage, which then makes people focus on more offensive builds with Mage. You use IS to slow people so you can hit them easier with Meteor. You use Teleport to get at a good range to hit people with Meteor and Heal off any damage you may receive while spamming Meteor. Personally, I feel like if they dialed back the damage Meteor does, but added a secondary effect that does some DPS within a radius. But that's just me.

    Long story short: I can't leave you alone for long without causing a mess, huh Heika?

    Yes, class balance has been very finicky lately with the release of Gavel, and I understand that you simply want to balance the classes

    some may see your way of suggesting things a bit rude, am I'm not saying it is, but the misunderstanding of tones was probably how this thread exploded in the first place

    Well, I don't have much to add to this thread, since pretty much everyone for the most part has made their point for the most part, I think I'll go now before things heat up....

    ...I find Assassin(at Lv 84 with fairly underlevelled gear) more fun to play as and stronger than my Lv 89 Mage(with gear at-level).

    It's improper to make players play a certain way. The classes and spells are very ambiguous so that the players can create what they think they are in their own heads, but with changes now, things are both unbalanced and forced to that certain playstyle with it. Updates shouldn't just change the way people fight dramatically, especially if they have had it that way for such a long time. Also, I didn't just say Assassin needs a buff, I just paid more attention to it because it has changed the most dramatically and been nerfed the most dramatically

    I find it fun because it provides more of a challenge besides spamming spells and attacks. You have to manage your mana and health wisely.
